American forces in Iraq have reportedly detained 61 people linked to al-Qaeda Iraq led by Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Spokesman of multinational forces in Iraq, General Rick Lynch said in a statement announced earlier today the detained al-Qaeda members were captured during an operation on a training camp near the city of Felluce (Fallaujah) on Monday.

The US forces conduct regular operations in the Al Anbar region, a popular area for sheltering many foreign insurgents.

In accordance with the Geneva Convention, line them up and shoot them on the spot.

61 were captured. How many others were killed, or did these guys surrender without a fight?

I'd like it better if they'd have just killed them.

My wife and I were watching the nbc evening news last night when we noticed they were running the same story on Iraq they ran Tuesday night. 68 Iraqis were killed on Tuesday and the country was "on the verge of civil war" according to Ned Colt, but on Wednesday 23 Iraqis were killed, a number so low that the nbc producers felt compelled to rehash old news. In fact today the news from Iraq is great, we caught 61 al qaeda scumbags, so can we expect to see Tuesday's news again? Probably.
