Time magazine once called author David Horowitz "a clear and ruthless thinker. What he says has an indignant sanity about it."
n it he offers "indignant sanity" as he draws blazing portraits of some of the worst leftist propagandists now infesting America's colleges and universities.
Those unfamiliar with the extent to which the nation's campuses are being held captive by left-wing radicals will find his revelations shocking. He goes about the task of unmasking the most virulent of academic terrorists who brook no dissent from their student victims.
"More than 90 percent of the professors profiled in this text have attained tenure rank, an indication that their academic work is approved by their peers
within their department and university and nationally."

Biggest scare in Korea was about 3 times a day the north would get about ten or 12 migs and flythem at the border at supersonic. We'd scramble from Osan knowing if they came across we'd be the 1st target and it would happen in about 5 minutes.
5 or 6 times a year we'd have major exercises and in about 3 minutes we'd get a message telling us to stand down as we'd been hit with whatever megaton nuke that hit usually within a hundred meters of the command bunker where we were.
Same thing at the pentagon but there we also had to put up with multitudes of officers, many of which were drafted dumbasses.
Only ones we had any real admiration for was the acadamies grads and the warrent officers. Rest were usually not worth spit.
Also I worked at the Hoffman building for the n.s.a.
Pentagon had about every alphabet agency going through us with their really high classified crap. Scary.
I'll tell you this though, Nixon really was a crook.

re: Given the tendency of kids that age to be oppositional to adult authority, there's bound to be a backlash against an aging liberal establishment.)))
Not only harden the opposition, but create one where none previously existed. Bossiness is just a prosaic kind of will to power, the lust for domination. Bullies might intimidate, but they also foster steadfast opposition. I think the present teens and young people might catch on--they created the catchy neologism, the contemptuous and dismissive "poser".

Well, yes. It does seem deliberate. And I definitely share your frustration. Thanks to the internet that is all the more apparent. However, to many, most, probably, it is not. Mainstream news is as all FReeper know, leftist. RINOs rule the republican party. Talk radio is current event driven but leftists define current events. Thus, conservative pundits on the air are almost always reacting to leftist accusation and drivel. Fox is useless. Truth is neither fair nor balanced. We have enough pundits. What we need is a mainstream news organ of a conservative nature to perform the kind of persistent attacking of leftist infrastructure that they have against us. These books that come out make the attempt, but they remain in the realm of punditry. When truth replaces b.s. at the top and bottom of the hour on a.m. radio, then we'll be able to turn this thing around. Until then, the left has the advantage because to find the truth you still have to be motivated to do so. Tis sad.

I disagree.. but then I'm no conservative.. The left defines the words that must stop.. I'm a radical, not because I made myself one. It is just so.. Conservatives are leftists.. just not as far left as liberals.. I just woke up one morning became aware that I'm a radical. As is many many freepers that don't know it yet.. They are radicals too..
One thing is certain; this democracy will not become a republic again UNLESS some radicals do some radical things in a radical way.. Because "the political Middle" is leftist and conservatives are trying to conserve a version of Socialism.. Its like Maoists and Leninists and Marxists argueing over the spoils.. as Capitialists capitalizing on Socialism..
Leftists have defined what conservative MEANS.. so conservative means stingy socialist.. even to conservatives.. What America needs is in no way conservative. America needs radical surgery not eliteist intellectual compassionate conservatism.. The Federal Government should be a vassal of the States. Instead the States are vassals of the Federal government.. with only the remote odor of the original republic remaining.. Socialism is only a symptom of the social disease called democracy.. but democracy (being Mob Rule) is the vector of infection.. America has become a democracy.. and THATS the problem, the ONLY problem..
Conservatives don't know this has happened, but democrats(generally) DO, therein is their power, they're staying power.. Until Americans spit on the word democracy they will remain dupes and in denial.. and are "conserving" the socialism that we already have, which is manifold..

It appears that I agree with you pretty much completely, though I am not quite willing yet to discard the term "conservative". I am particularly aware of the reverse in power that has taken place between federal and state governments. The Fed has taken over responsibility for states and micromanages them to the point that this country is almost a kingdom and has forgotten what a republic is.
To me, conservatism is a return to the way it was, a return to the Republic of the United States of America. But this won't happen until people are fully aware of the truth, and it may be too late, anyway, because I'm not sure we any longer have a nation of individuals who desire independence.
To me, the USA is ripe to be converted into a Stalinist, Maoist, or Nazi style dictatorship. The left has been so successful in their endeavors that most republican politicians are now leftists. The only thing, in my mind, that can reverse this is an educated and aware core population. There lies my desire for a news organ, a true news organ, that prints and broadcasts the truth where the main body of the population can see and here it.
It has to come in the form of news. Not punditry. And it has to be irrefutable truth. Right now our media is organized to hide the truth, but squabble over who gets the spoils. There are an incredible array of expose's out there to be laid before the public. Whatever we, of a like mind, call ourselves, the truth can only help us. It can only harm those who prefer the Royal Kingdom of America.
By the way...to me, "compassionate conservatism" is another way of saying "not quite as communist as Howard Dean".
