Sister in Lubbock says it's Wylie's Propane...and that since the wind's from the west, Pedro's Tamales is OKAY!
(Thank God!)
It was a 15Kgal tank that ruptured & they're letting it burn out.

Texas Tech is safely on the north end of town. Lubbock is build like a grid. East/ West Roads are named numerically with Tech boardering on 4th; 82nd is way south. The North / South streets are alphabetically named by letter, then city, then colleges. It is easy to find almost any address in town.
Easy to build a town on 90 degree streets when you are building on a flat cotton field. No lakes, rivers or hills to build around!

Is lubbock in the desert, plains, or hills? I went through Amarillo last year, and some of the countryside west of there is pretty neat.
