Qaeda claim: we 'infiltrated' UAE Gov't
New York Post ^ | 25 February 2006 | Niles Lathem

Al Qaeda warned the government of the United Arab Emirates more than three years ago that it "infiltrated" key government agencies, according to a disturbing document released by the U.S. military. The warning was contained in a June 2002 message to UAE rulers, in which the terror network demanded the release of an unknown number of "mujahedeen detainees," who it said had been arrested during a government crackdown in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

The explosive document is certain to become ammunition for critics of the controversial UAE port deal, who fear the Dubai-based firm could be used by terrorists to sneak money and personnel into the United States.

Little is known about the origins or authorship of the message.

"You are well aware that we have infiltrated your security, censorship and monetary agencies, along with other agencies that should not be mentioned," the message said.

"Therefore, we warn of the continuation of practicing . . . policies which do not serve your interest and will only cost you many problems that will place you in an embarrassing state before your citizens.

"Your homeland is exposed to us. There are many vital interests that will hurt you if we decided to harm them."

The document was among a batch of internal al Qaeda communications captured by U.S. forces in the war on terror.

Alqaeda sympathizers are right here in our own congress.

Sad but true.

This is going to add more heft to that political tsunami that threatens to crash down on the White House.

Only if you take al Qaida's word for it.

But Tommy Franks said it was UAE who ratted out the Taliban in preparation for our operations in Afghanistan.

Little is known about the origins or authorship of the message. . . . but yet you'll abandon the President because of it.

The lunacy of the left. First they complain that the President is inventing danger for political gain, then they say they fear the very thing they're complaining is not really dangerous at all.

Even that lamebrain Feinstein said she doubted the story about the danger to the west coast. Said she had no proof and that it was simply hyped by the President to create fear.

Almost 4 years later no sign of truth to the claim by Al Qaeda. Proof positive that UAE has flushed the system or found no AQers in the system. Additionaly, these papers also contain references to AQ operations in Iraq prior to US attack. You don't suppose the MSM will pick and choose what to believe based on their political leanings, do you?

Why would some organization tell another they infiltrated them? This sounds fishy to me.

Hysteria is not much of a principle; hysteria based on enemy agitprop, even less so.

i hadn't heard about the Chinese involvement in the port of long beach. could you elaborate?

i guess if we turn over all our ports to communist governments and terror-supporters, we can always re-draw the boundaries of the US so as to exclude the east and west coasts. the congress could simply cede the coastal areas to the UAE and China.
the added advantage would be that most of the popular targets for terrorists would no longer be in the US, so we wouldn't have to worry anymore.
a brilliant new phase of the war on terror!

that was the lamest announcement i ever read. it sounded ridiculous.
however, given the idiocy of terrorists, it could have been a legit communique despite its fraudulent appearance.

Didn't we have Moran also known as Moron go over to Iraq and say he believed Saddam Hussein over our own President?

You act as if the only thing that ties UAE to terrorists are these intellegence reports. Two of the hijackers came from there and funds for the training came through the government banks.

We'll just agree to disagree. I'm not saying the world is ending if the UAE runs our ports, but I am saying that I'm not comfortable with it.

Or, just maybe instead of relying on propaganda statements from Al Qaeda, he knows the reality of the situation instead.

Ding! Ding! Ding! No more calls, folks: we have a winner!
