The Senate Armed Services Cmte. conducts an open briefing into the management of six American ports by Dubai Ports World. Sen. John Warner (R-VA) called the briefing to review national security issues raised by the deal, which transfers control from a British firm to one owned by the United Arab Emirates.
Oh, that's a scientific poll, isn't it?
We never supported the Taliban. We didn't recognize their government and didn't have diplomatic relations.
Michelle Malkin's site is down...FBI called

But those are just Freepers who don't yet know that the Muslim terrorists who will be running the ports have signed the "I won't hire terrorists" box on the application form. Once they know that, everything will be fine.
"We really need more Bauer like men instead of the metrosexuals currently working in the CIA."
And Mitch Rapp and Dirk Pitt as back up.
Ask Bush what they could legally do. He apparently believes it's the government's prerogative to block the deal. From CNN:
"This deal wouldn't go forward if we were concerned about the security of the United States of America," Bush told reporters during a Cabinet meeting.
You must be comfortable with the AP as your bible of information. What do you know for a FACT about it?
The media and admin has been slow in getting out any meaningful info about this. The more facts we see the more many hyperventiated fears appear to be exaggerated and generally based on ignorance. We still need to understand fully what all this Company can and can't do. The admin either blew this by not carefully getting out in front and educating everyone what this means or it was a setup to draw out the blowhards and allow them to overextend themselves.
Right. I guess we should take back the F-16s we just sold to them as well if they are so untrustworthy.
This guy Michael Jackson is really good.
He's speaking of THIS deal, you know, the done deal.
Oh, I'm sure some here would love that.
If you're not comfortable with the outcome, have FR post another, we'll see how many have changed their minds and vote differently.
I flew SOUTHWEST to Buffalo, NY a few months back and Chuckie got on the plane after I was seated. He was to give a speech for an off-price airline...now bankrupt... that was awarded Buffalo as one of their routes.
I was sooooo tempted to flip him the finger when our eyes locked...but was afraid I'd be taken off the plane as a perceived threat to him.
Despicable b*st*rd!
Thanks. Hillary, then, is "concerned" over this minutia about the number of days.
Remember you said that; the sand is shifting under your feet as we post.
If there's no extra risk . . . why try to get extra assurances???
The "government" is not a single entity as you know. When Bush says it would not go forward if security were in danger, he is saying the review in the executive branch would not have approved this transaction in that case. What Congress might try to do at this late date is a different question.
