Thank you for the info - I was going to post along those lines as well ; )

"and the MSM trying to turn the deal into something that it's not." You're wrong on this one. I first heard about this fiasco on conservative talk radio, then on FR, THEN in the msm. Apparently, they had no interest in it initially, until there was already a grassroots opposition to it, by people from both parties.

The Independent Party should see an upswing in membership.

You obviously are unfamiliar with the genesis of this deal. Go to michellemalkin.com for a quick overview.

You must be from the heartland, because you know very little about life on and around the docks.

But don't let your enemies have control of your ports.

Oh please, let's not get carried away here. It was very gutsy for President Bush to go into Iraq. He's done a lot of gutsy things, and if he was "Fredo" he would have killed the sale because of all the opposition.

Its very simple, he is sticking to his guns reguardless of what anyone thinks.. Further shows that he is a man of his word - if its popular or not. It also shows he doesnt care about polls what so ever, which I think is great. I dont think the deal will pass (they will prob have enough votes to override his veto), but he stuck with it.

Neither am I. First, illegal immigration, now this! Is he serious about the WOT or not?

I'm not completely comfortable with it, but I'm starting to understand that we need to keep certain governments, like Dubai, engaged so we don't lose them. One trades with a country to keep them engaged. One sends cultural exchanges with a country to keep them engaged. One engages in diplomacy with a country to keep them engaged.
One DOES NOT HAND OVER IMPORTANT PORTS, VIOLATING ONE'S NATIONAL SECURITY to a country to keep them engaged.

he is against America defending itself from foreign invaders. I believe he IS for America defending itself from foreign invaders. However, and most unfortunately, fertilizing the pockets of wealthy family friends (both foreign and domestic) seems to be more important to him. No comment required on the pun.

Won't it be interesting...am I mistaken, wor will this be the first thing he has ever vetoed? Yes, it would be. Remember a few months back, his other veto threat? Then, he threatened to veto a bill if Congress spent less on domestic spending than Bush Jr. wanted to squander.
This guy takes the cake.
Thanks, Republicans.

You'll notice that our anti sovereignty corps will refuse to answer the most relevant question of them all.
How much money American money will find it's way into the hands of terrorists?

I think the thing that infuriates me the most is the sense we've all had that the progress on port security has been too slow, and hasn't gotten nearly as far as it should of by now, and when they finally DO take an action it's a freakin' stupid one that WEAKENS, not enhances the security.
After that you get back to the hijackers having Dubai papers and Dubai laundered money, and them having recognized the Taliban, but NOT recognized Israel.
These are not our friends.
