I never thought about that! Horrifying indeed! Well, maybe if she divorced him first.

Also this:
Lobbyists gave more to Democrats
The Center for Responsive Politics says that over the past fifteen years, lobbyists have contributed more money to Democrats than to Republicans, by a $53 million to $48 million margin. This seems remarkable, as Republicans have been in the majority in both houses of Congress for eleven of those years.

Unbelievable I admire Dick Cheney and normally relish things of this kind as it gives opportunity to get in some good points and of course photos of the VP but even me as a Cheney fan is getting fed up.
For goodness sake leave the poor man alone and let him recover emotionally from this. After all he has admitted that he does not really know whether he will shoot again something he both loves and relaxes him.

Q Will it affect your attitude toward this pastime you so love in the future?
THE VICE PRESIDENT: I can't say that. You know, we canceled the Sunday hunt. I said, look I'm not -- we were scheduled to go out again on Sunday and I said I'm not going to go on Sunday, I want to focus on Harry. I'll have to think about it.
Q Some organizations have said they hoped you would find a less violent pastime.
THE VICE PRESIDENT: Well, it's brought me great pleasure over the years. I love the people that I've hunted with and do hunt with; love the outdoors, it's part of my heritage, growing up in Wyoming. It's part of who I am. But as I say, the season is ending, I'm going to let some time pass over it and think about the future.

Well....I think I predicted pretty well that the Dubai Port sale would be a hot topic..
Both Saxby Chambliss and Jane Harman feel that Congress SHOULD have been involved in this sale...and feel that NOW he needs to get with them for their permission.
However, I think it was Tony Snows show that I heard that Congress itself had decided that these issues were better NOT to be in their jurisdiction...and that the panel that did make this decision SHOULD make the decision..
BUT, I see that they have found yet another way to bash Bush, whether we like this deal or not (and I am not happy with it)...it is being USED.

Most amazing you should write about one of my old employers The Miami Herald. In a sad but true admission I confess to working for them on a very part time basis from 79-91. When I started they actually were a straight(who, what, when, where, how, why for the most part) news organization but by the time I quit they had become part of the left wing MSM and today they are on of the worst most biased rags out there. Sad but true. Not being up on anything that happens in Miami politics I am not surprised anyone with a Spanish sounding surname got a pass from the Herald, that's sop for them. The Herald is a sad "has" been.

Saying Cheney's approval rating is 29%Mara also cited this polling number on the Fox News Sunday roundtable, but didn't give a source. DNC, maybe?

"If someone on that panel doesn't talk about how the Clinton administration didn't level with people about the Travel office firings, Whitewater, Chinese being given technology illegally, etc."
Also ........ Vince Foster's death (I can't say suicide) .. Vince's office was looted, and I've heard 30 hours went by before they even alerted the media, the delay of the clinton Blind Trust, and the biggy - for me - is the suspicious surgery clinton had in Florida - that was no ankle surgery!!!
For hillary clinton to step before the camera and accuse President Bush of having the most secretive Adm. ever only elaborates the love affair the media has with the Democrats.

thanks so much for providing the written and spoken word of Birch Bayh. He's really making the rounds....I had no idea.
Like I said, he's slicker than snot, and very, very good at tailoring his responses to his audience. (EX: This morning on FOX he agreed with everything Lindsey Graham said, and he went after Democrats and the MSM for not remembering the Cheney shooting was a personal tragedy not a political opportunity. But on Charlie Rose, Bayh lobs typical candidate soundbites, when he snidely hits Bush hard for being good on the politics of the war, but not good on execution.)
I say beware any politician who sounds so much like Al Franken's Stuart Smalley, who said, "I'M GOOD ENOUGH, I'M SMART ENOUGH, AND DOGGONE IT, PEOPLE LIKE ME!".
Bayh was Smalley personified when he said:
To my party, I urge that we do not change the subject or attempt to avoid this fight. It is our chance, and responsibility, to show the American people that we are tough enough and smart enough to protect this great country in perilous and uncertain times. "

ARI FLEISCHER will be on Reliable Sources. He should learn a thing or two from Mary Matalin. I think he want to be on McCain's campaign. But, McCain may not take him as he courts Bush loyalists. Watch it & get angry with Ari. OTOH, Powerline guy is there next segment doing a good job.

In New Mexico, the driver's license manual is in both English and Spanish, and I imagine the test is also.
BTW, its in our state constitution (from 1912) that government is bilingual.
