Libyans protesting the Prophet Muhammad cartoons set fire to the Italian consulate in Benghazi on Friday in a riot that killed at least 10 people, an Italian diplomat said.
Libyan security officials said 11 people were killed or wounded during the six-hour riot when police firing bullets and tear gas tried to contain more than 1,000 demonstrators hurling rocks and bottles. The casualties included police officers, but the officials declined to say how many people had died.
Italian diplomat Domenico Bellantone said between 10 and 11 people had died, and all were Libyan _ either police or protesters. He spoke after the Libyan interior minister had briefed the Italian ambassador to Tripoli on the riot.
Yeah, anything is possible. That outcome doesn't seem likely, though.
When is the world going to wake up to this evil. I'm starting to believe Islam is an army disguised as a religion.

It's worse than that -- it's a religious army.
If Islam was just a "cover story" for conquest, it wouldn't be nearly as dangerous as it really is. It's a conquest in the name of religion, where the religious conviction and zealotry is 100% real, and as a result 100% uninterested in anything -- not even their own welfare or survival -- except for total victory and total destruction of those who oppose it.
I sure believe that. And they are placing their army in all the non-muslim countries slowly and inexoribly, by immigration and birth. I'm convinced that all the sporadic incidents involving muslims are them just testing the waters for two purposes: 1) to see who and where they can get away with it and 2) to see when the time is right for a united worldwide jihad.

Right from the start I've believed this to be a demonstration, if you will, of how the enemy can amass an "army" on the fly.
One of the assertions re terrorism is that it is how a country without an army can wage war. Now I think some poobahs who don't want their oil wealth threatened have figured out a way to get an army "on the fly" so to speak.
Sure they're not disciplined but they can, I'm thinking, scare the hell out of people.
I don't think something like this will ever happen in America because a)we don't have that large of a Muslim population and b)Americans, maybe I'm wrong but I believe it, Americans would never put up with it. Americans would be out with their guns or joining up in groups to fight back.
Problem is I bet Bush is getting begged to keep quiet on this as it is our allies that are worried.
By now the world surely knows this isn't about cartoons for God's sake. Somebody's orchestrating this and somebody wants to scare the world.

This is the same tactic that they've been using everywhere on the planet, even in most places where converts to evangelical and pentecostal Christianity far outstrip those to Islam.
It's going to be the excuse used by craven, politically correct Western governments when they start to ban things that contravene sharia.
Students in Danish public schools are forbidden from eating pork, and the same rules have been instituted in some Australian hospitals.

Muslims, in their calm, coolly rational way, respond to Danish cartoons that offend them by burning down the Italian Embassy.
Even their violence lacks logic.
That's a shame about the Embassy being burned. But on balance......
