Italian embassy set on fire in Libya, 10 killed

Libyans protesting the Prophet Muhammad cartoons set fire to the Italian consulate in Benghazi on Friday in a riot that killed at least 10 people, an Italian diplomat said.

Libyan security officials said 11 people were killed or wounded during the six-hour riot when police firing bullets and tear gas tried to contain more than 1,000 demonstrators hurling rocks and bottles. The casualties included police officers, but the officials declined to say how many people had died.

Italian diplomat Domenico Bellantone said between 10 and 11 people had died, and all were Libyan _ either police or protesters. He spoke after the Libyan interior minister had briefed the Italian ambassador to Tripoli on the riot.

They invaded. But that was quite a while back. Still the muzzies never miss a chance to riot.

" Yet we continue to permit Muslims, including Wahhabists into our COuntry to work, study and visit here. If that isn't national suicide I don't what is."

I agree. There's no logical reason for the current immigration policy. It's insane and dangerous.

I've heard of them clapping and cheering before, but never an eye witness report, such as yours. Unreal and scary.

As long as only a handfull of us realize that, the number of Wahhabists and Muslims in this country will continue to grow and the same political panderers who cater to a non-voting Hispanic illegal population - which even nationalized American Hispanics resent - will be less and less likely to take the kind of drastic measures thei crisis calls for.

This will not come to a conclusion until the harsh decision is made. It is most unfortunate that we do not have a commander in the field that will make this call. May God Almighty bless our finest.

I'm talking about Muslim riots out in the open here in the US killing people, not hidden terrorist blowing people up.

And when it is over we will know whether or not our tax dollars will go toward building mosques

That's happening now, and has been for years - Bush, Condi and the free-spending Big Stupid Government gang are all in favor of continuing subsidizing Paliroach terrorists with our tax dollars taken from us by force.

Reportly:

The riot appeared to be a reaction to Italian Cabinet Minister Roberto Calderoli, who said this week he would wear a T-shirt printed with the cartoons, which have provoked protests across the Muslim world. His remark was widely published in Libya.

Calderoli wore the T-shirt beneath a suit on Friday. Hours later, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi asked for his resignation, the ANSA news agency reported............

The tshirt is really popular for politicians...lol

thank you for elequently writing something that I have suspected from the start.

This is a display of power, and in some cases (not all) is being done totally separate from the wishes of the local governments.

I have wondered if it is related to the wahabbist movement.

There are numerous reports of mosque owners/managers being physically threatened to get them out of control and for radicals to take over the facility.

I wonder what would happen if a Christian Cleric offered One Million dollars for the death of a Muslim cartoonists?

The liberal press and the the left wing kooks would have a field day.
