New York -- For days, the White House news corps has pounded the Bush administration, demanding to learn more about Vice President Dick Cheney's accidental shooting of a hunting companion Saturday.

Cheney finally addressed the incident Wednesday, but the forum in which he chose to do so -- in an exclusive interview with Fox News host Brit Hume -- quickly became another source of contention.

"Brit Hume remarked that Cheney chose FoxNews because they had the biggest audience."

Near end of his show, it was a stitch to watch the way Brit Hume stage whispered "the MSM won't be showing this soundbite...";)

I've got some news for these critics. None of them are welcome in my home. OTOH, Brit has an open invitation.

" CNN was the finest news outfit in the world, very balanced and unpolitical. It's sad to see what's happened to them."

It will be interesting to see what happens to CNN when Al Jazeera International starts broadcasting in May.

Cheney will give Wolfie Blitzer an exclusive interview on CNN right after Hillary gives an unscripted interview to Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity of Fox.

Not when you're already #1.

Why lose your biggest customers, to give a stick of gum to someone who'll just spit it out and accuse you of poisoning them?

Brit Hune is without question the smartest and best anchorman in the news business. Who else should Cheney have given an interview too? Brian Williams? Katie Couric? Helen Thomas?

I know, maybe he should have just held a press conference.

Jeez. The MSM is as nutty as Al Gore these days.

The good news is: If this is the biggest issue the press weasels have to go into a feeding frenzy over then we're probably doing pretty well. I actually caught the interview I thought it was tough yet reasonble with Brit's trademark aplomb.

"When it comes to Vast Conspiracies, the Left-Wing media division operates as a seamless single entity."

Last night on ABC News Tonight, Diane Sawyer and Elizabeth Vargis were about to have a collective fart-fit over Cheney's timing to let the media know of the accident. That idiot Stefanolpolos (sp?) looked at the camera and dared to say that "this Administration has a credibility problem."

Laughed so hard I nearly fell of my treadmill.

Is nobody just a little concerned that Dick admitted to "having one beer" on the day he shot someone? I couldn't count the times in my younger days, when I said, " I just had one beer".

This LOOKS pretty bad to me. I mean.... did Cheney speak with local law enforcement on the night of the shooting? Anyone at the hospital? Is there any independent, authoritative source that can give witness that he was not, in the least way, intoxicated?

I couldn't care less whether or not he spoke with reporters. They can KMLWA (Kiss My Lily White As). But, he should have been speaking with the local Sherrif. I've heard different reports on this. Does anyone know for sure?

Just chuckling inappropriately over that one.

Compare with B&H's softball 60 minutes interview widely credited with saving Bill's candidacy. Now that's an interview of Bonnie and Clyde by the MSM.

P.S. isn't Jack Cafferty just another Andy Rooney minus the charm, intelligence and sex appeal? Plus, the guy has nothing on his resume worthy of anything beyond a local weatherman. To call him a putz would be an insult to feminine anatomy.

So is Greenfield, who was crying this morning on Imus, that garbage bin of a show.

What was he "crying" about? Here in SE Virginia, the local radio station has dropped the Imus show for FOX Sports...also, I've noticed this week that MSNBC has dropped the first hour of Imus...I would imagine there are a lot of other stations around the country dropping Imus as well. His show has gone totally down the tubes....not that he cares one iota...and not that I care either!

Who was he supposed to be interviewed by, that drunk SOB Cafferty?

I like Brit's remark though. Tell CNN to put some ice on it.

Your comment about Cafferty leaving the scene of an accident last year (I didn't know that), coupled with the behavior of David Gregory et al this week, gives me an idea. There should be established, either by thread here (I have been registered for a while, but have never actually started a thread), or by another blog or website, a sort of registry with information about "big league" journalists, properly documented to show their biases. I wouldn't mind them showing conservative as well as liberal biases, along with life experiences and especially egregious examples of bias. This way, we could keep an eye on, or even expose, some of these "journalists" for what they are (which begs the question: What IS a journalist anyway? There is no testing, no certification, no licensing--what must one do in order to qualify to be called a journalist?)

Perhaps such a thread or website already exists. If so, if anyone knows about it, please advise.
