Welcome To the Canteen Cook-Off Shake Rattle and Roll Jerry Lee Lewis Chubby Checker Bill Haley  Come on, Mojo! Quit slacking and participate, will ya? (Talk about a slacker!) Ahem! Now where were we? Oh Yeah! This is a fun, friendly cooking contest open to anyone who would like to participate! There will be prizes! Imagine dat! First, second and third prizes, and honorable mention! The prizes are cookbooks from Ms. B's extensive collection! First prize: Patti Labelle's Lite Cuisine Second prize: Greatest ever Thai Recipes Third Prize: An appetite for Passion Honorable mention: Pizza by James McNair ** Winners will be announced two weeks from tonight! ** Entries can be main course, desserts, or side dishes! ** Please post your entries to this thread by midnight, EST on Feb. 17, 2006. ** Make sure Ms.Behavin is in the "To" line of your post to be considered for a prize! Woo-hoo! 
Our panel of impartial (?) judges will have the final say! I love cooking with wine! Sometimes I even put it in the food!  Have fun!!! We will never forget who we owe our Freedom to!  We are here first and foremost for the Troops! Please, no politics in The Canteen! We want the Troops to be able to relax, relate and rest! A gentle reminder from Ms.B Disclaimer: Any kitchen disasters are the sole responsibility of recipe posters and participants! Keep a fire extinguisher handy! If you have dogs, you can get rid of disasters before your spouse gets home.. If the dog won't eat it, resort to shovels! Have fun! |

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Ok - that's enough applause - they want to get my picture and then there's all the parties I have to at least "show" at ... First I want to thank my producer (what? - hurry up?) well, thanks to Ron who created this recipe, my brother Fred who taught me to remember places I've been by what I ate there, my wife who said "You included the mushrooms? That was a mistake!" and of course my dog Blue who happily consumes any of our mistakes or leftovers. Thanks again!
