You can add "Maturity" to that list too, Samwise.

For the press it's all about ME..........for a real adult, a MAN, it's about others first.

These infantile self-absorbed 'reporters' won't understand men like Bush and Cheney until the day they die.

"They have become so irrelevant that it's almost funny!"

Almost funny? I find it truly funny and entertaining. They have no idea how fly over country views them.

I'll never forgive Krauthammer for his flowing review of the movie Sideways. I bought the DVD and explained to my husband why I believed we had a real gem, "If Charles Krauthammer recommends it...." Boy howdy, did he miss that one. ;-)

Fred Barnes is being a dufus too, saying if the news had been released earlier, that Cheney would never have needed to appear on camera. Who does he think he is fooling?

"I think Cheney operates in his own world and really doesn't care what the press and the public think about him because he's serving the president. But in this case, this strategy is beginning to damage the president," said a prominent Republican in Washington, speaking on condition of anonymity.

As usual the liberal media go and search for a chicken little Republican to speak against VP Cheney on condition of anonymity.

This moron, if he is not a fictional character invented by this media report, should realize that this whole story is reflecting very badly on the liberal media and exposing their utter hate to President Bush and Vice President Cheney and it is the least damaging to President Bush or Vice President Cheney. The majority of Americans including many democrats are not buying the media crap on this insignificant story. In fact, the majority of voters are not buying the media lies and distortions on almost everything they report.

Geez--I had a beer with my lunch today. Then I went out with some wooden matches and burned a week's worth of papers in the burn barrel.

I can trust you guys not to report me to the ATF, can't I???

If the admin had authorized the federal Government to bypass the State they'd be up on articles of impeachment, exactly what the Libs and some RINO's would have loved.

Katrina was illuminating for me. It revealed just how many spineless "conservatives" there actually were concerned about the MSM. Since National Review led that charge, they've been on my black list since as the example of what a conservative should NOT be. Basically, in this story I see the same unprincipled wimpishness on parade from the same folks as I saw then.

I hold them in contempt. That contempt only increases when they pile on Republicans for not standing firm, given their own examples.

Personally, I'd like know why there was such a delay...

To ask such a question means you buy into two false premises:

(1) That the media must be notified within minutes of this or comparable occurrences. No such requirement exists. Simply because we live in an era of omnipresent, insatiable media doesn't mean they must be the first to know about anything and everything.

(2) That lack of immediate media notification means there was a delay of any kind. There was not. Due to the presence of the VP, both law enforcement (secret service) and medical aid were already on scene when the accident occurred. The local authorities were notified immediately and an ambulance was called.

"While I don't give a doo diddly about the msm and what they get when, I do think Cheney should have made an announcement Sunday at the latest. Finally talking to FNC four days later is ridiculous."

Surely, you can not think the press would have been either gracious or magnanimous to the Vice President had he called a press conference within moments of the accident, do you ? Of course not ! Had he done so the headlines would have been... Cheney insensitive to the privacy of the friend he gunned down

there are quite a few LAWS that prohibit the feds from just bullying into a state and TAKING OVER

Of course there are. I don't know why in the world these elected "leaders" don't bother to get the information, but stuff like this happens all the time.

"Unfortunately, there will be undue focus on a beer."

Probably. But from a site I found, the blood alcohol content of a 210 pound person having one beer is approximately 0.018. It then states "Subtract from this number the percent of alcohol "burned up" during the time elapsed since your first drink. This figure is .015% per hour."

So basically the alcohol content of one beer is very low to begin with and it would basically be out of the system in an hour. The VP waited 3+ hours after lunch to go back out hunting and the incident happened 3 hours after that.

Another site with a calculator said a person weighing 210 pounds drinking one beer over a six hour period (no selection for 6 hours AGO) calc'd a blood alcohol of NEGATIVE 0.05 (obviously because of the formulas, but basically it is saying a zero BAC). The calc showed close to zero in an hour (again assuming drinking beer throughout the one hour time period...not one hour after stopping).

http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/safety/motorist/drunkdriving/calculator.htm

So the beer at lunch is a non-factor...but that doesn't mean the media will jump all over it.
