Caricatures: Kentucky Fried Chicken set fire to in Peshawar

PESHAWAR (Pakistan) - a restaurant of American frankness Kentucky Fried Chicken was burnt Wednesday with Peshawar (north-western of Pakistan) by demonstrators protesting against the publication in Europe of caricatures of Mahomet, indicated the local police force.

A mobile shop of telephony of the Pakistani company Mobilink was also fired by some two hundred demonstrators whom the local police force endeavoured to disperse using teargases.

"the KFC is completely on fire, smoke leaves all the windows, all furniture burned", said by telephone a resident of Peshawar, Tehseen Khan.

"It is hot. As soon as they see signs of Telenor or companies foreign, they (demonstrators) destroy them ", explained to AFP Malik Saad, a senior police officer of Peshawar.

The Norwegian group Telenor, one of the principal operators of mobile telephony in Pakistan, has been for one week one of the privileged targets of the demonstrations anti-caricatures, Norway having been, after Denmark, the first of the European countries to have reproduced the drawings.

The demonstrators "are caught some with all that is related to foreign companies", explained Malik Saad.

Another group of a half-thousand of demonstrators attacked a road station with the periphery of Peshawar and damaged coaches belonging to private companies of transport, indicated to AFP the spokesman of the local police force, Riaz Ahmed.

The demonstrations against the publication of the drawings are daily since more than one week in Pakistan, where they took a turning anti-American and antigovernment, particularly in Peshawar, place-strong of the Pakistani islamist opposition.

When they say Extra Crispy they mean Extra Crispy, damnit!

PS. Why do they think that anyone in the US or EU really cares if they burn down a local KFC?

You really have to pitty people who have nothing better to do than riot because of a to-bit editorial cartoon. This is the behavior of sub 80 IQs, not enlightened people.

Poor Mohamed. If he had any power, he could strike down the evil sinners. If lowly humans must do his dirty work, he must be a pitiful excuse for a god.

These are truly pathetic societies (I can't call them "civilizations").

The cartoons harmed nobody in the muslim world.

Nonetheless, the muslims have killed and injured many of their own people.

They wake up each day in a rage over some kind of slight or misfortune. Ignorant, angry...living in a religion which does this little for their mad souls.

The owners of the KFC, McDonalds are Pakistanis, no doubt. The diners are also Pakistanis, as are the dead and injured.

A religion which brings 1.3 million angry, ignorant pople to the world scene, and which feeds them only rage and violence.

They want to conquer the world, to make it like them. But the world only wants to silence and still them, preferably without violence.

But islam have made them violent, so they can only be stopped with power.

Maybe they ordered green beans and mashed potatos as sides to a bucket of half extra-crispy half orignal recipe (but all halal)chicken. And when they got home and found there were two tubs of green beans and NO mashed potatos, and that drone (probably a shiite, the bastard) at the counter had forgotten to give them extra napkins like they'd asked for, well, maybe it was just too much to take any longer.

Really wild. Just how burning a KFC in Pakistan, which I am willing to bet employs only Pakistanis, is going toe express outrage for what some European cartoonists have done is beyond me...

I guess I just can't figure out the Muslim mind.

But them, can anyone?

That single Kentucky Fried Chicken was one of the few things separating those barbarians from having to live like savages.

I bet that if you could truly measure the effect of this unlawful act, it is not that more the people of that country want to become terrorists, but rather, more people of that country want to move to the US.

Don't expect to get anything close to an honest analysis from the old media about that though.

Aside from the location, how is this any different from, say, South Central LA or Detroit on Saturday night? :-P

I hope the KFC outlet was insured by some Pakistani insurance company, preferrably state-owned. The result would be that the Pakistanis will have effectively paid for all damages with their own taxpayer money. Loser b@stards!

A million years ago, there were Homo Erectus who acted with more sophistication than these barbarous thugs of the desert sands. If they put a fraction of the energy they put into tearing our civilization into building their own up, they might have actually accomplished something constructive by now.

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit." -- Matt 7:15-17

yes, I remember the time I went to a Mickey D's at Eastbourne and told the doink (who spoke and looked Russkie) that I wanted a Big Mac sandwich -- NOT the meal. He seemed to think I didn't want the meat -- what a maroon, did he really think anyone would ask for just pieces of bread and coleslaw>>?>?
