NYT: CHENEY FACES GRAND JURY INVESTIGATION IF MAN DIES... In Texas, Carlos Valdez, the district attorney in Kleberg County, said a fatality would immediately spur a new report from the local sheriff and, most likely, a grand jury investigation... MORE...
How so, NEWB?
Put down the crack pipe and head back to DU. We can smell you people 30 yards upwind.
Lord help me, but I LOATHE the MSM.
What's to investigate? It was an ACCIDENT!! The man was a long time friend of Mr. Cheney.
These nuts act like Mr. Cheney had some secret agenda going on........
Yeah.....it was all planned......
And I'm sure it's still Bush's fault.
When someone gets killed there is always an investigation. I believe that if such an ivestigation were to take place (i.e. if this man does not survive) it would most likely focus on whether or not Cheney was negligent. The other option would be to focus on whether or not it was intentional, and that seems unlikely.
He'd have to die of the gunshot wound--not likely. Besides, a grand jury investigation would only show that it was an unfortunate accident.
The story is, a birdshot pellet got lodged in Williamson's heart. How plausible is it that birdshot at 30 foot range could penetrate clothing plus a man's chest wall?
Who would be the most likely candidates to replace Cheney if the above scenario results in his resignation?
Iran Press News reported that Khamnei's newspaper calls for suicide bombings in Denmark and elsewhere in Europe.
Iran Focus reported that a senior commander of Irans elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) vowed that the Islamic Republics suicide volunteers abroad were being placed on readiness alert to attack Unites States and Israeli interests.
Iran Press News reported that Ahmadinejad website site called for abandoning security for various embassies in Tehran.
This place is beginning to seem more and more like DU every day. Is there a full moon or something? What makes otherwise intelligent conservatives all of a sudden begin to sound like the lunatic fringe on the left?
Allen.
Aiming For Guns
The White House press corps spent the bulk of a 41-minute session with Presidential Press Secretary Scott McClellan peppering him with hostile questions about Vice President Cheney's accidental shooting of a hunting partner in Texas last weekend. "Don't accuse me of trying to pose to the cameras," yelled NBC's David Gregory. "Don't be a jerk to me personally when I'm asking you a serious question," Gregory roared.
McClellan had simply been trying to get Gregory and his hotshot colleagues to wait until the cameras stopped rolling. Gregory was the reporter who went on national television several years back and asked the President of France a question in French while President Bush--who speaks Spanish--stood by waiting for a translation. Que bueno--how good, or how clever of you--President Bush shot back at the time.
Today's Washington Post "Style" section is printed with buckshot holes all over the front page and inside. Que bueno. With the country at war in Iraq and Afghanistan, with Iran arming with nuclear weapons, with serious issues confronting us at home, the liberal media and their Capitol Hill cohorts are obsessed with what is--in essence--a very trivial story. They are filling their "news holes" with nonsense.
Remember how these same reporters fell all over themselves to show Presidential candidate John Kerry hunting in Ohio in October, '04? Then, they wanted us to think that they really were for hunting; it was just those "Saturday Night Specials" they wanted to ban.
The reaction of the liberal talking heads confirms what Americans have long known: They hate guns and the people who own them

Maybe the fools who were trying to kick my butt on another thread will wise up and realize that this could get serious.
Can anyone tell us if Kleberg County is Rat country?
I think it might be.
its good to have you docs on board
here we go...a lib's wet dream realized.
Still, none of this makes sense. I'm open to correction, but I find it hard to believe birdshot made it through someone's ribcage. And the alternative theory, that it 'migrated' through a vein, doesn't mesh with what I know of human anatomy. There is no way a 5 mm lead or bismuth pellet made it into a cardiac artery via a vein.
you should give an example
So who wants to take wagers the party of death is cheering for this guy to die?
Serious only if he dies. All indictations are he will be OK, and there is nothing to indicate he would be charged.
Yet the NYT runs a story on What-ifs and Maybes and here you are defending it.
Im sure the birdshot in the heart doesn't help.
