That has to have been the most idiotic question I've ever heard from the press corps, and that's saying something.
"Quailgate" is just ridiculous but a great excuse for a laugh.
Here in Michigan, the liberals and tree-huggers are wailing in angst over mourning doves. They are game birds that hunters love because they're hard to shoot. What does our ninny in the governor's mansion do? Give a VERY limited license in a handful of counties, which does nothing to help us in terms of hunting competition with other states.
I live next to Waterloo State Rec, and hunting is a serious business here.

The DUmmielanders know that there was a cover up because they would have had to call 911 to get an ambulance and that would have been reported to the police. They don't know the Prez and the VP have their own medical teams virtually within earshot, can command helicopters and anything else they need. I just have to laugh.

One of the staffers is a mole. They were told to make sure all applicable licenses were in order before the trip... why weren't they? Does anyone seriously think Cheney would risk going somewhere without appropriate hunting stamp... in this media climate?
