Ann Coulter Speaks, Crowd Erupts
Human Events ^ | 02/10/06 | Ivy J. Sellers

Ann Coulter...was definitely Friday’s biggest draw at CPAC 2006.

From the get-go the conservative columnist had the crowd cheering and was frequently interrupted by applause.

Many of Coulter’s talking points came from recent news events -- such as “the great Danish cartoon caper” and President Bush’s Supreme Court nominees.

“Muslims are the only group who kill because people call them violent,” she said of Islam’s rage over the printing of Muhammad cartoons.

Speaking about the nation's highest court, Coulter not only expressed elation at Justice Samuel Alito’s confirmation, she also shared her feelings on Chief Justice John Roberts ...

She had fun impersonating Sen. Hillary Clinton, mocking Clinton’s MLK Day remarks on “the slave plantation” in the House of Representatives, adding: “And you know what I’m talkin’ about, girlfriend.”

“I can say that by the way,” Coulter said. “My party freed the slaves.”

Democrats have three major planks, she explained: “Abortion on demand, gay marriage and banning the Boy Scouts.

Someday they’ll find a way to combine them all and figure out how to abort all future Boy Scouts.”

Ann Coulter could never be elected because she doesn't control her mouth.

If everyone were like Ann, there would be no elected officials, and the Constitution and the country, as the Founders intended it to function would as you so delicately put it, 'go to hell.'

I suppose that's preferable for a liberatarian??

All you fellas drooling over Ann are overlooking one thing - the lady looks severely anorexic.

Now which of you red-blooded American males is gonna be a hero and buy her several nice, high-calorie dinners??? (I'm thinkin' a romantic Italian-American restaurant, with lots of pasta!)

No.... there would be politicians, they would just be honest and upfront for a change. Just because you prefer your politicians to obfuscate and hide the truth from you doesn't mean everyone does. The founders of this country were much closer to Ann Coulter than to Bush or Clinton.

As for the constitution "going to hell" well, our weaselly politicians under instructions from special interests are seeing to that. I am not sure why most people are blind to this fact, but I suspect it has something to do with wanting to feel good about the politicians we elect. Blind faith is so much more comfortable and so much less distressing than the truth.

I like Ann. I emailed her once (years ago) and I got a personal email reply, I think, the same day. It was a short, quick response, to be sure, but you knew that she actually read what I wrote and didn't use a stock reply letter.

Oh, and she's hot.

TS
Gotta get a poster of the pic of Ann on the shooting range.

Some people are just naturally thin. She would look better if she gained about 5lbs but she isn't anorexic. I find it amusing when fatties accuse thin people of being anorexic.

Tsk.....tsk......let's not be putting words in my mouth, OK? I never said any such thing.

But I do prefer that people be decent and kind, even when telling the truth. And most people, conservatives included, agree with me.

Besides which, Ann thinks she's much better than the average conservative. But you know what? She's not.

Her Harriet Miers bilge revealed a lot about what's inside of her, and it's not pretty. She's gone over the edge about leftists on occasion, but at least with them, the principle was right.

With Miers she was just an elitist, snobbish nasty loudmouth. There were others who shared her concerns who used logic and reason and not vile personal attacks to get their point across. They still have my respect. Ann has lost it for good.

I have no 'blind faith' in any human being........so cut the stupid, repetitive, boring, and fundamentally dishonest attack, OK? I just have a much greater grasp of the reality of life than you do. I am able to take my VERY conservative principles and apply them to real life situations.

There is no libertarian who could be elected President, and it's most certainly not my fault that that's the case. Your sour grapes attitude toward winners must give you heartburn......

Sorry, monday, but THIS is anorexic. Sick looking. Bony. Emaciated.

5 pounds wouldn't even fill out her face enough to look good in this pic....

Looks like your 'blind follower' attack on me needs to be turned around on your little visually impaired self, eh? :)

I disagree. There are not many "Conservatives" who would call Muslims "ragheads."

Miers wasn't qualified - thats why she withdrew.

Coulter should be thanked for opposing Miers, along with Laura Ingraham and Robert Bork.

Sorry she didn't express her opposition in the way you prefer. But she was right.

You seem to place feelings over judgment.

Raghead, shmaghead. Lighten up. Do you honestly believe calling a terrorist a "raghead" is going to offend them even more? You look at these people funny and they want to blow something up.

I find it even more amusing when people accuse others of being fat without having seen them. Get a clue, look at her wrists.

I've said repeatedly that I am not at all talking about Coulter's opinion that Miers wasn't qualified. (I really wish you folks would read more carefully instead of engaging in knee jerk reactions to what you THINK is being said).

I said, and I will say again, that Ann Coulter diminished her stature as a serious conservative spokesman because of HER feelings about Miers. If she had been rational and stated her objections thoughtfully and forcefully (that part she usually does well), it would not have changed my opinion of her.

It was her indecent and wrongful attack on Harriet Miers as a person that caused me to lose respect for her. And I doubt it will ever be regained because of the seriousness of her indecency and nastiness.

Charles Krauthammer shared her opinion, but used logic and facts to back up his opinion. Ann went off the deep end of emotional vitriol.

Repeating.....they had the SAME opinion. One voiced it as an intelligent conservative. One voiced it as someone out of control, craving attention. That's not the kind of person I want speaking for me as a conservative.

Histrionics and hatred can be found in abundance on the left. I don't want them coming from someone who claims to be speaking for me.

You say; "But I do prefer that people be decent and kind, even when telling the truth."

and then; "so cut the stupid, repetitive, boring, and fundamentally dishonest attack, OK? I just have a much greater grasp of the reality of life than you do."

and more; "Looks like your 'blind follower' attack on me needs to be turned around on your little visually impaired self, eh?"

Hypocrite. You aren't "kind" or "decent" so quit the "Poor little me" act. I am not "attacking" you.

We just disagree on what the country needs. You think it needs to be tucked unto bed with a comfy quilt and a cup of tea, and sung a lullaby. I think it needs a swift kick in the pants.

Whatever....

Only God has the big picture and I trust my President to pray and seek HIS wisdom. I feel more secure with Mr. Bush than I have with anyone else. He cares about the security of our nation and loves America. He's not at all like the demonrats who only want power for themselves.

"I find it even more amusing when people accuse others of being fat without having seen them."

All I am going to say is I never accused anyone of being fat, and although I can see why you would jump to that conclusion, it was not my intent.

BTW my grandmother has looked pretty much like a concentration camp victim her whole life. Shes tough as nails though and still going strong at age 78. Shes not anorexic.

I'm not a hypocrite, monday.

Your calling me a 'blind follower' was stupid, repetitive, boring and fundamentally dishonest.

I don't follow anyone blindly, and I DO have a grasp on reality.

Those are all true statements with no hypocrisy.

And your last paragraph.......

We just disagree on what the country needs. You think it needs to be tucked unto bed with a comfy quilt and a cup of tea, and sung a lullaby. I think it needs a swift kick in the pants.

Is not only untrue, but it's silly.

So apparently I need to find someone serious to discuss issues with and leave you alone, eh, monday?

He cares about the security of our nation

This you can tell by the incredible strength of our awesome and powerful border patrol, and the outright stunning support the President has thrown behind the minuteman project.

My suggestion is:

Since dislike Coulter so much, (because of the way she expresses herself) don't read her and don't post on her threads. Confine yourself to the conservative commentators you like. You'd probably like Gergen and Carlson.

My only "beef" is that the Coulter haters want to drum her out of the conservative movement. The conservative movement isn't big enough to limit ourselves to only "perfect" spokespeople. We shouldn't play the liberals game. There are a hundred Liberal commentators who are even worse than Coulter. Suggest you spend some time attacking them.
