Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) didnt hold back in his criticism of President Bush this morning at the Conservative Political Action Conferencedelivering what amounted to a presidential stump speech that could have easily been delivered in New Hampshire or Iowa.
Tancredo attacked the administration for its support of a guest-worker program for illegal aliens and its big-spending ways on education and Medicare prescription drugs.
It is the President who is out of step with his party, not Tom Tancredo, the Colorado Republican said to applause at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Northwest Washington, D.C.
Tancredo called for the repeal of two programs offered by President Bush: the No Child Left Behind Act and the Medicare prescription drug program. Both expanded the cost of government and drew the scorn of conservatives in Congress.
Tancredo said the Big Government policies of the Bush administration need to be halted. He said conservatives must return the GOP to a party of individual rights and shouldnt afraid to say it.

[What solution to the illegal alien problem are you proposing?] Removing the nutjobs like Tancredo from the debate so that the adults can decide on a rational solution would be a good start.
Thanks for admitting that Tancredo has been effective at stalling the amnesty agenda.

The only thing I think that needs to be accomplished RIGHT NOW is that we need to start in the right direction on the issue.
I don't think we are there yet as a country.
We do need a fence.
We need to punish employers that are preying on these people who are coming up here. To the point that they won't even consider it.
removing ALL of the illegal immigrants should be the goal. But realistically that's easier said than done.
politically it needs to be done RIGHT for the RIGHT reasons.

Tom Tancredo was asked by his constituents to run for another term. He broke no promise. The people in his district said, run Tom run, and that's what he did. Tancredo's district is better with him, then without him. They respect and admire the man. Colorado is better off having Tancredo in WashDC. And the nation is better off with Tancredo in the House. We need more conservative Republicans like Tom Tancredo in Congress. No doubt about it.

So, in other words you're completely unable to make the case that his constituents were betrayed, like you claimed they were at #326. Here's a hint: It's because they weren't.
Here's another hint, he said he would stop being a congressman after 3 terms. They re-elected him, it's on them. But he completely broke that promise. You have to admit that.

You make a good point. I have wondered what is REALLY going on with Mexico...not that I will know any time soon.
Very often, things are not as they seem. For all I know, we have an elaborate sting operation in cooperation with Mexico in order to catch AQ types.
Since we don't know, I simply say I don't like how things SEEM to be, and let it go.

- Upon hearing that he was played by Kiefer Sutherland, Jack Bauer killed Sutherland. Jack Bauer gets played by no man.
- Jack Bauer's calender goes from March 31st to April 2nd, no one fools Jack Bauer.

"Effectively absolved". That's nice. I'll have to remember that one. So based on the fact that someone else did something bad in the past, Tancredo is "effectively absolved" when he does something bad too, nevermind that what Marty Meehan did was a decade before Tancredo, and had nothing to do with him by virtue of the fact that it was years before Lil' Tommy ever got elected in the first place.
I guess Clintoon really was "effectively absolved" for lying to the American people - after all, Nixon did too, right? Come to think of it, why limit this to politicians? Maybe I'll take that concept into the confessional this weekend. "No worries Father, I don't need absolution for my sins. I've already been 'effectively absolved' by the sins of other people." Sure will save me a lot of time.
To: MikeinIraq
They re-elected him, it's on them. What's this "it" that's on them? I promise you that I won't ask to borrow your car again. I ask to borrow your car again, and you agree. What's "on" you at that point? By lending it to me, you've effectively absolved me from the promise.

Thanks for admitting that Tancredo has been effective at stalling the amnesty agenda. He's also done a bang-up job of stopping the evil leprechaun agenda too. I mean really, you haven't had any evil leprechauns plaguing you lately? Be sure to thank Tommy for that.

The pres wants deep economic integration first with mexico and canada and then with the rest of the hemisphere to counter the EU, India and Asia. He also wants the hispanic vote. Thus the incredibly slack stance on illegal immigration. Unfortunately he seems to favor a very soft border with mexico and a preference for their immigrants above all others. (Hes ignoring the fact that they only vote republican 40% of the time on a good day for a candidate that really tries with them but anyway.) Thats the big picture. I dont want the US to become part of latin america so I oppose his view on what our border should become.

Chernoff is famous for his inequality which is proven using the moment generating function of a random variable.
Would you like to hear more?
Right. Nobody ever wants to hear more.
To: MikeinIraq
Had he kept his word, he could have still been reelected by a write-in campaign THAT would have been wholly honorable.

"F16 often posts outrageous for effect...lol. It's his nature, ain't it?"Outrageous" is in the eye of the beholder, Me Lady.
But I can't help it if some posters find George W. Bush the Second Coming, and the GOP His Apostles.

Well, you could post it, but since my mathematics knowledge only extends to trigonometry (and that in my distant past) I would probably not understand very much.
Say, would you like to hear about the Criterion of Rock Failure?
