(02-09) 11:31 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, who has criticized President Bush and other elected officials for their war support since her son was killed in Iraq, said today that she won't run for office against U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
"I felt that putting pressure on her from the outside would be more effective than working from the inside," said Sheehan, 48, of Berkeley during a morning press conference.

Actually the problem was also that work would be involved and people would be able to ask her questions she would be forced by circumstance to answer. All in all, not the career for our Cindy.

Bottom line, Feinstein has MILLIONS in her campaign account and Sheehan couldn't get more than 3 people to her book signing how is she going to get tens of thousands of people to donate to her campaign?

I can't help the feeling that conservatives screwed the Sheehan situation up strategically. How did we get to the situation that this pathetic woman commands this kind of attention long after her 15 minutes should have been up?

Bummer.. I would love to see her be the face of the DNC.. I guess the press conference was just to stretch her 15 minutes a little longer...

What a shame. It would have been fun to watch her get kicked around. :)

I was desperately flipping TV channels with one hand and the radio with the other to see if any of the stations were carrying it live, and nobody was. Somebody will have it on the local TV news tonight, maybe I'll post video links later.

I was looking forward to the cannibalization of the left and the endless hilarious material that would have been provided in this "race" between Sheehan and Feinstein. Oh, well....there should be plenty of that from the other candidates as fall approaches.
