What Is It With Democrats And Funerals?
polipundit ^ | February 07th, 2006 | Lorie Byrd

What is it that makes Democrats incapable of controlling their hostility, even during funerals?

Especially during funerals.

Rush Limbaugh just played a clip of today’s “Wellstone Funeral moment” from Rev. Joseph Lowry in which he raised the issue of weapons of mass destruction in the Coretta Scott King funeral, then talked about how not enough money is going to the poor.

I know I have seen figures that indicate that Bush has spent more on some programs for the poor than Clinton did, but it wouldn’t matter if he had spent ten times more.

Facts don’t matter.

This is pure theater, folks.

Can you imagine how the media would have reported a Republican using the Reagan funeral to make the point that Democrats were wrong about communism and that they are just as wrong on terrorism?

Fortunately we have a President with more class in his little finger than the entire Democrat party.

Following the Lowry comments, Bush gave him a hug.

Does anyone know where to find the transcript of what was said?

It reminds me of an old skit from "In Living Color," in which the brothers of Funky Finger Productions crash a funeral for a Hollywood star they pretend that they knew. They use the occasion of his funeral to hog the stage and promote and tout their latest productions (pronounced "produczionnes", Italian-style).

David Alan Grier and Tommy Davison were hilarious. The fools at Mrs. King's funeral are just pathetic.

re: I can't believe Dems think this helps. Anyone with a brain knows their behavior is inappropriate, and yet they continue to do it? )))

I read a few comments on dailykos--and the lefties loved it. The cultural disconnect is striking--they have no sense of decorum or solemnity whatsoever. (I guess it comes from promiscuous mothers, fatherlessness, and drugs?). It's a good bet--stay away from funerals when liberals organize them--they'll turn it into a vulgar, spiteful circus. Sort of like Oscar speeches--tacky, fatuous, grotesque!

I think that's probably a good policy for us in our personal lives, too--avoid ambushes by avoiding traps--There was a discussion of FR (pretty good chat) about trying to deal with these liberals as family members because they turn every gathering into a political rant. If it happens in politics, it'll hit us in our own lives.

My in-laws are having a big 60th anniversary party on the 25th.

I may have to be sedated.

The lefty Dems, the black Caucus including the Revs who illegally campaign continually for Dems will never be fquestioned by this Prez. He simply is too nice . Hopefully, his inaction in striking back politically with ads, Talk Radio, the Net, may hurt him in Nov. unless the apathetic public actually, ACTUALLY pays attention to thing like this funeral outrage. Which I frankly doubt. The MSM has a scenario in which Dems win Congress and things like this funeral will not be covered as horrid manner, bad politics or snobbish-boorish behovior. Unfortunately. It will take Pubs, Conservs and Talk Radio to point it out.

If I find somethin better, I will post it here.

"UNHINGED AT CORETTA SCOTT KING'S FUNERAL"

Expose the Left has video of Jimmy Carter and Joseph Lowery gone wild with Bush-bashing sermons at Coretta Scott King's funeral.

Thank you!

I'm trying to get my non-FReeper FRiends to be as pissed off as I am and many of them missed the coverage.

This should help!

I swear 90% of America gets their news from hearsay and headlines.

It's no surprise that the democRAT race baitors behaved as they did. What can you expect from low-lifes?? I for one don't appreciate my President being belittled in public. It's surprising that the President even attended.

This begs the question, are they Democrats because they don't have an ounce of class or respect, or are they classless and disrespectful because they are Democrats?

Pass the Plate Dems can't resist spewing their anger at even the most hypocritical of issues. Kennedy and LBJ, DEMOCRATS, spyed on MLK! They are on the wrong side of that issue. More republicans voted FOR the 1964 Civil Rights Act, than Democrats, including Billary's beloved mentor and admitted racist Fulbright. Wrong side of that issue. They made the same case for WMD's BEFORE Bush did. Wrong side of that issue.......the list goes on. INformed people know better. That is why Bush won by nearly 4million votes.

“Dad was also a deeply, unabashedly religious man. But he never made the fatal mistake of so many politicians wearing his faith on his sleeve to gain political advantage. True, after he was shot and nearly killed early in his presidency, he came to believe that God had spared him in order that he might do good. But he accepted that as a responsibility, not a mandate. And there is a profound difference.”

Of course he later denied that he was explicitely referring to Bush.

The author of this column asks a very good question.

One possible explanation is that professional liberals don't take religion or religious ceremonies seriously.
Like everything else, they're just means to their political end -- in this case, a stick to beat the Republican dog with. In addition, professional liberals don't take common decency, or indeed social boundaries in general, seriously. They are totalitarians at heart, and we see it in some of the liberals' funerals. No space for anyone else, or anything else. That's the essence of totalitarianism.

It's too bad Bush reacted like a lapdog. Disgusting really, if you read the stories.

Other than the statements given by both President Bush and former President Bush, I don't give two hoots in hell what the other clowns said at Mrs. King's funeral. They showed theothers what real class is, and I'm proud of both of them. The others, however, have a lot of class amongst them. Problem is, all their class is low....
