... Who has the trophy to take home? ...

Well, not you (or I).

Congrats to the Steelers. Too bad, they weren't allowed to show their true ability.

Why wouldn't you insist the NFL keep the game fair so that a win is a win?

If you aren't sure the Steelers can win a fair contest, well, why do you support them.

... Three dropped passes and two missed field goals are not the fault of the officials. ...

You don't have to take long shots if you are getting fair consistent calls on the field.

Your point is bogus.

Being 4 point underdogs was irrelevant...they were a 1 seed against the last seed in the AFC. This essentially means that the NFC is a minor league.

Holmgren's game plan was what caused the Seahawks to be very predictable in the red zone. Yes, their own mistakes played a very big role...but so did his reliance on the standard west-coast offense short passes into the flat, the use of the tight end over the middle (sorry, Jeremy Stevens is NOT ready for prime time, he should have feinted with Stevens and run Jurevicius over the middle), and the very mundane and predictable over-tackle running game. Holmgren's got nowhere to hide. His team botched it badly at some critical points, but his game plan made it impossible for them to get the big plays that Pittsburgh won the game with. He let Cowher do nothing and beat him.

Sure maybe they were consistent on that call but the refs were totally inconsistent on the horse collar call. That was a textbook horse collar by Porter on Alexander and it was a big miss by the refs.

Hey...I like the outcome, I just won my fantasy league title......at least from the individual player statistical standpoint. I had Hasselbeck, Parker, Ward, Brown, and Pittsburgh's D.

For every ten penalty calls in any game, a couple of them will be ticky tack. Unfortunately, the ticky tack calls in this game just came at really critical times for Seattle. I believe if they punched it from the 2 prior to the holding call, they would've won. they seemed to be beating Pittsburgh on the line and they just needed the lead to take advantage. It didn't happen & they lost.

I thought Seattle was well prepared and executed far better against the Steelers than the top 3 AFC teams. The outcome did not work out for them though.

... The casters at ESPN and FOX are paid lackey who will never get outspoken after a superbowl. ...

According to them, Rush and the rest of us are all racists too.

No tough analysis there. Don't look there for the truth.

Well I realize that I'm blowing off steam in my comments but it's been a long time since I've seen an NFL game with soooooooo many bad calls.

I've seen bad calls like the one with the Steelers and Colts but nothing like what I saw tonight. I mean that trick play for a touchdown had Big Ben throwing a below knees block on a guy.. if they flagged Matt for a tackle below the knees but don't flag Ben for the same thing it was obvious to me either they didn't know what they were doing or they were playing out an agenda.

Not completely different, but for god's sake, at certain times you must shake it up a bit to break through. Holmgren was way too conservative. Hasselbeck never threw a pass (that wasn't just a throw-away) more than 25 yards.

Cower's team did little thanks to Seattle's superior preparation. Seattle's execution was poor at times, but it was due to player mistakes and penalties, not coaching(IMO). Seattle pass protected well, given the ferocious rush Pittsburgh displayed in the playoffs. Both sides of the ball, Seattle's gameplan was there. He used Stevens becuase that was where he saw an advantage....if JS didn't choke, different outcome.

I'm with you. It's not tin foil alone. The thought is staggering.

And, it's not in the NFL's interest to find any problems.

I prefer to think (hope), it's just misguided officials who the NFL will quietly chastise tomorrow and be done with it. Hey, at least they didn't try to give us the tuck rule nonsense.

I agree.

While I will still question the Rothlisburger touchdown, the ticky-tack calls against the Seahawks came at critical times, and that really killed them.

I think Holgrem executed even better than I thought he would against the much hyped Steeler defense.

For the most part, the Seahawks were superior on the run and the pass. Their defense was excellent. But they got burned on the dog luck plays. The Steelers won in the end. Sucks, but the Seahawks will be back next year and will have the same unit, so I think they have a great chance to get back to the superbowl.

Don't you think Holmgren HAD to know that JS wasn't ready for this? Stevens has been inconsistent (at the very best) his entire career, including this year -- and including the playoffs. So why put so much on his shoulders? Or did they get sucked in by the Porter gambit?

I just read that Alexander is a long way from signing. He's got to know that he won't be the same back on any other team. He's got a great line in Seattle to run behind.
