Maybe you missed this on CBS

Such as four crucial penalties. Two missed field goals by Josh Brown. Three dropped passes, all by tight end Jerramy Stevens -- the co-creator of last week's only controversy with Porter. A catch on the goal line with only one foot inbounds. Two calls by the officials that Seattle will be debating all winter, spring and summer.
That mess directly resulted in 18 lost points -- including a disputed Steelers touchdown -- two lost first downs, 176 lost yards.
And one, bitterly lost Super Bowl.

How can a (now) defensive player BLOCK illegally? Chop the knees out from under his own guy trying to stop the interception from scoring? I am not saying that poor officiating was the only reason the Steelers won, but it was not insignificant.

Who the hell says "hey, lets go to pittsburgh!"

ME, I like Pittsburgh, it is good city.

When were you last in Pittsburgh?

There have been a lot of changes. In my opinion Pittsburgh is on its way to better days and is recovering from all the steel mills being closed.

I'm not a Seattle fan either.. I'm a Bear fan.. and my wife can I attest that I was completely disgusted at the game.

In fact when they were reviewing the Hassleback fumble I said "if they don't overturn this I quit football forever."

I think they let NBA refs call the game.

Probably bought and paid for the same too.

No dreams, only reality. They weren't tickytack calls, they effected the play. If you extend your arm and push someone backwards while the ball is in the air you will be and should be called for pass interference. If you grab somebody's jersey and keep them from sacking the QB you will be and should be called for holding. 100% correct calls. The TD hard to call, one angle looks like he barely touched the line before being knocked back about 2 inches by a defender, another doesn't look so clear, not a cluster by any stretch. Actually what you said IS a TD in the NFL, the goal line goes around the world and the instant any portion of the ball crosses the line by even the minutest ammount it's a TD. The ball was on the ground on the wrong side of the line, but the real question is did the ball hit the line while Ben was in the air. My answer is "don't know" anybody being more definite than that is blowing smoke.

Pretend winning? Who has the trophy to take home? I'll give you a hint, it ain't the Seahawks.

I must disagree, Holmgren's game plan was horrendous...he relied on west-coast short passes into the flat, basic off-tackle runs, and a reliance on the tight end (Stevens) on over-the-middle routes. He never even attempted to stretch the defense...and he never showed variation from anything the 'Hawks did regularly throughout the season. He let big plays beat him...by never doing anything that led to big plays on his part. That gawd awful attempt at a screen pass to Alexander was the worst of the worst...everyone knew they'd try that, and everyone knew Alexander couldn't pull it off.

Yeah, they botched plenty, but still they appeared the stronger team. The Seahawks always did have a bend-not-break defense, but this time they broke at two critical points in the game. That's not inexcusable, but the lack of offensive production - especially when combined with solid play from their quarterback - leads one straight to the game-plan for fault.

The casters at ESPN and FOX are paid lackey who will never get outspoken after a superbowl. They call the refing out or speak how they really feel and they lose their jobs.
And puhleaze, even the Madden and the other guy were talking about bad ticky tack calls going against the Seahawks.

The game is over. The Steelers have the trophy. Thats the way it goes. We will see you next year.

Three dropped passes and two missed field goals are not the fault of the officials.

Get over it, your side lost. The trophy goes to Pittsburgh whether you like it or not.

You are supposed to act gracious when you lose. Didn't you know?

.... Probably bought and paid for the same too. ...

A pay off is so unbelievable, it staggers the imagination. Yet, a number of times it was so bad, no other option comes to mind.

But, it benefits no one. The NFL would be devastated by such a thing. The Steelers wouldn't want it.

The difference between a fair game and not is subtle. And if I had enough money on the game, well?

The idea (and remember I disagree with this, but I did read up on it after the call went against the Steelers twice) is that any engagement with a non-ball carrier is some form of block (like maybe you're trying to knock him down so somebody else can make the tackle). And because the would be tacklers in all three cases went low and had to go through a blocker to make the tackle that makes those hits on the blocker illegal personal foul low blocks. Again I don't agree with it, but how they called it in the SB is consistent with how they called in the regular season (interestingly those are the only 3 times all season I've seen it called, twice against the Steelers and once for).

That's the game plan that got the Seahawks to the SB, they're a WCO team, Holmgren is well known to be the closest adherent to the true Bill Walsh style WCO, I wouldn't expect them to come into the SB with a game plan completely different from how they got there. Dance with who brung ya, WCO brung 'em, that's the right game plan. Actually they threw down the field quite a few times but they all fell incomplete.
