About 1,000 people gathered in rain-swept Washington, D.C. today at an anti-Bush rally organized by the World Can't Wait, a front group for the Revolutionary Communist Party.
Held on the grounds of the Washington Monument, the rally capped a week of activities by the group demanding President Bush leave office immediately because of their opposition to the Iraq war and other Bush policies.
The organizers planned for a crowd in the tens of thousands, but as the photos below show, they spent a whole lot of money planning for people who never showed.
One woman who did attend the rally made it all worthwhile them, though. She carried a poster that featured a blood-dripping beheaded President Bush.
I agree with you that the woman should have been arrested. A sign promoting the assassination of the President of the United States is not and should not be protected speech!
But thanks for posting the link for other people who might like to read that thread.
I hope you're dried out and warmed up by now. See you next Friday?
(now I really am signing off for the night)
Thanks to all of you who countered the RCP/WCW protesters and preserved the event in stark photos of the signs and the ever-decreasing size of the protests.
People advocating this type of violence can be permanently disappeared as far as I'm concerned. The world is a better, safer place without them.
They had more porta-johns than protestors?
Not surprised
"Lonely days and lonely nights"...Fredie Fender
At least she chose good colors for the painting. LOL these people are nuts.
I don't think China would want 'em.
Now Hugo might...they could be added to his million mango guard...oh i forgot...most of these idiots are gringos.
These anarchists need to be hauled in and questioned by the FBI and Secret Service. They may think it's just "political demonstration" but what this really amounts to is treason and it follows the historical model of like-minded people. This is how they started with the English, French and Russian Revolutions and all three resulted in the head of state being executed by an anarchist mob.
How innovative, one can per protestor. I guess they're afraid of their slimeball disease ridden Leftist brethren - don't want to catch THAT.
Thanks for all you do for our nation, our president, and our people. Good night and sleep well! You did a good job today.
Was Mayor Nagin in charge of getting the busses?
Looked like at least two portapotties per attendee...
What else do you do? In my opinion, you're more intersted in self-congratulations and back-slapping one another than anything else.
And, to be blunt, you all could dress better.
If you're so predisposed to images, then I'd suggest altering the 'blue jean/sneakers' ensemble. Maybe a Dress Code should be amended to the Official Rules O'Freeping.
Ahhhhh........how I do miss the good old days of Kent State.
Compliments to www.flashbunny.org...check it out-GREAT site!
Woman? Women??
I saw no "woman/women" there.
have at it!
I have just finished reading this thread and seldon answer remarks like yours...but you are just plain wrong.
Please do some research on the amount of work these Freepers do as well as counter protest...and for what it's worth...in almost five months at Walter Reed I never wore any jeans, but do not mind that others do...They are a widely recognized as typical and acceptable clothing for anything AMERICANS do.
People like that make me sick.
