A woman accused of using racial epithets while waiting for food at a Connecticut Taco Bell drive-through window was arrested Wednesday.
Jennifer Farrelly, 19, of East Windsor, has been charged with ridicule on account of race, creed or color and second-degree breach of peace. Farrelly's boyfriend, Eric Satterlee, 22, of Ashford, was charged with breach of peace in the incident.
On Dec. 18, Farrelly and Satterlee became frustrated by the slow service at the Taco Bell restaurant on Brookside Place, according to an arrest warrant. Farrelly banged on the drive-through window and called the Taco Bell attendant, Jamelle Byrd, a racial epithet, according to the warrant. Satterlee allegedly cursed and banged on the window.
Farrelly denied using racial epithets when she was interviewed by police, saying Byrd caused the dispute by ridiculing her for parking her car far away from the drive-through window, the warrant states. Byrd's supervisor told police that Byrd should not have been working the drive-through because he had gotten into a similar incident with another customer, the warrant states.

Does this mean we can finally have hollyweird types arrested for ridiculing Christians? How about other MSM types?

I must have missed the disclaimer in the Bill of Rights where it says, "not valid in Connecticut." I can maybe see a charge of disorderly conduct, but no way is the act of ridiculing someone on the basis of race, religion, or anything else illegal.

I've heard lots of reports of "being cursed at " that do not pan out. I remember an employee where I work who was written up by his supervisor for dicking off all day. The employee tried to appeal to me that the supervisor "cursed at him". Turned out he'd said something like "I told you two to stop talking and get to work, dammit!" I let him fill out his little "appeal" form, but I told him the "cursing" complaint was pretty lightweight stuff.
People who make complaints make it sound as if they were called every name in the book, when oftentimes, it was just a "hell" or "damn" that was uttered.

What did she say? Did she call the clerk a street-Arab?

There was the problem, he took the word Camel as an affront to his favorite mode of transportation.

Amazing! It's hardly believable that you have a 7-11 clerk who would even know what a chalupa was.

"In a similar expericence, I was thrown out of the 7-11 after venting my frustration at the clerk not being able to locate Camel Filters in a box, by calling him a "chalupa"." They threw you out for that? I know you have called people way worse than that.

Viewed in a certain light, Taco Bell food is an ethnic slur.
Ahem...Viewed in ANY light. Why do you think Taco Bell does so much business after dark? What the gringo gordo can't see won't hurt him.

This whole situation is idiotic. If two people get into an argument and one is a preferred minority, all they have to do is accuse the other of making a racial comment and the other is arrested.
I guarantee it has happened many times, although it doesn't always end in arrest.

Better yet...Maybe when you ordered a pack of camels in the box he thought you wanted to 'pack his camels box'.

Sounds like the state of Connecticut has a lot in common with the Islamofascists who want to blow people up for printing some cartoons they don't like.

The constitution gives me the right to say what I want, but if I say something meant to incite, I need to accept responsibility for peoples response. She's charged with a breach of the peace. Actions are criminal, not insults.
