4 CORNER FReep 41 at Walter Reed, Jan 27 (Heavy graphics, Join us Feb 3!)
DC Chapter ^ | Feb 3, 2006 | BillF

Edited on 02/03/2006 9:07:52 AM PST by Sidebar Moderator. [history]

On Jan 27, we held all four corners of the main gate at Walter Reed for the second week in a row. Per last week's thread and report, the Pinkos have been relegated to an area about a block away such that the wounded and their relatives do NOT have to pass close by them to enter or leave Walter Reed Army Medical Center. We had a great turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond including numerous Protest Warriors and other patriots. Although the night was cool, it was still warmer than usual for a January night.

This was FReep #41 as FReepers have countered the anti-troop hate group Code Pink at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center for 10 months now. We were honored again to have been joined by the proud father and mother of a Marine, who is currently serving in Iraq. Now that the Pinkos are completely gone from the gate, we had many more than the usual number of wounded troops join us or stop by to thank us for being there.

tgslTakoma walked down to take photos of the Pinkos from across the 6 lane street, whereupon several crossed to her side and claimed to have a permit for both sides of the street there, leading to this thread which includes tgslTakoma's photos of the incident:

Code Pink Leader Has Tantrum at Walter Reed - 01/27/06

As continues to be the case, Code Pink has been stunned into virtual web silence about the vigil since mid-Nov. Unless they suddenly produce a slew of reports, Code Pink has published only one report (about Dec. 2) since their Nov. 18 report as you can see on their website: http://www.codepink4peace.org/article.php?list=type&type=81 (copy and paste the address at left into your browser to get there).  This has followed a series of humiliating defeats inflicted upon them by the peaceful and lawful actions of FReepers, combined with their usual self-inflicted embarrassments. Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire, now a block away from the vehicle and pedestrian traffic entering the gate,  as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate severely wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Code Pink seems to be phasing out most of their participation in the protest and turning it over to other groups as the number of Code Pink women has diminished considerably.

As Code Pink abandons the documenting of their psych-op against wounded war heroes, the lying, thieving, whining Weasel (see here and here for some FR reports on his actions) has picked up the writing of fictional reports about the event. Weasel's cute name for Free Republic, and especially the FReepers opposing him and the other Pinkos, is "Primate House." The name sounds like a sixth grade monkey joke. His reports are here, but take your barf bag if you must go: http/www.stealthbadger.net/log/index.php/category/good-stuffs/activism/walter-reed-vigil/ (copy and paste the address at left into your browser to get there).

We are winning our psych-op against the Pinkos and hindering their heartless psych-op against our war-wounded troops. Please join us this Friday, Feb 3, at 6:30 pm per details below. Please also bump this thread to keep it on top. Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers."  Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.

Lifting the spirits of our war-wounded heroes is what we aim to do. If you live in the area, please join us. If you really can't join us due to work, family, or medical reasons or you don't live in the area, you can help in other ways by contacting Coop, Landry Fan, or PleaDeal by FReepmail for ideas.

The honor roll of those in attendance (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*):

AirForceBrat23, Albion Wilde, ALlRightAllTheTime, Apple Blossom and daughter, beandog, Benjamin*, Bill* from MD, bmwcyle and daughter, Bryant*, BufordP, concretebob, Coop, Dana*, Diva* , Doll, Fraxinus, GunsAreOK, Iraqikurd, Joan* from MD, John* and his wife Mary*, Mr. Sarcastic, Mrs. Sarcastic, Justanobody, Kristinn, Landry Fan, Laura*, Lauren*, Nan*, Nina0113, Oscar*, Pasquale, PleaDeal, Ryan*, Son of TGSL, tgslTakoma, Tim* and wife and 2 children, Tom the Redhunter, trooprally [Mr. & Mrs], and BillF.

We had coffee, hot chocolate, and various snacks on site.

The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep. Also, let me know if I publish your photo without your name or, worse, I mislabel you in a photo.

[I've had to move from one web host to another in the last couple weeks, requiring considerable time and hassle. Therefore, my report this week may be shorter than usual, but I'll link to various other photos and reports for those who wish more details. Also, I'm only featuring a few photos that I took in the report. More photos of others are on the links.]

[CLICK ON A PHOTO TO OPEN A LARGER VERSION IN A NEW WINDOW if it has a border around it. If a photo doesn't have a border, it is not hyperlinked to a larger version.  Click on another hyperlinked photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Or you can simply close the window with the enlarged photo and click on another photo in the report to open a new window with an enlarged photo. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos will be interspersed in the report.

See also reports, some with photos, of the FReep on the great blogs of our FReepers: Doll (click here), Landry Fan (click here), PleaDeal (click here), and Tom the Redhunter (click here).

Opposed to our 46 patriots, the Pinkos were unable to rally even 15 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers, who claim to support our troops,  called our troops "killers", endorse "the Iraqi resistance" (those killing and wounding our troops, see here and here), and  have given money to "the other side" in Fallujah.

FOUR CORNERS OF FREEPERS:

Southeast corner: AirForceBrat23 and Bill

Southwest corner: PleaDeal, Ben (a wounded soldier) and
Landry Fan

Northwest corner: Mr. trooprally, Lauren, Mr. Sarcastic, and Mrs. Sarcastic.

Benjamin (Ben) (three photos up on right) gave us a gripping account of the fight in Iraq that left him wounded. He will make a full recovery in a few months.

Two police officers stopped by briefly to remind us to stay out of the street. This was about 5 minutes after a car had zipped into the parking lane very close to two of the FReeper corners, putting FReepers in jeopardy. In a similar incident last week, a car made a very reckless U-turn that almost hit FReepers on two corners. On both occasions, the FReepers were up on the sidewalk, not in the street. Caution is in order. My guess is that both incidents were simply reckless (i.e., no political motive) drivers, but any more close-calls will raise a question about possible intentional use of vehicles to harass us.

Now that the Pinkos have been effectively removed from their morale-sapping position to harass troops and relatives passing through the gate, we hold down the noise as there is no need to remind the Pinkos on their distant block of the shame that they should feel for their taunting of wounded troops.

Three Pinkos surround tgslTakoma (red jacket with tripod). With a couple other Pinkos, not shown, they had left the remaining 7
to 9 Pinkos (see candles on the ground on the other side of the street) to harass tgslTakoma because she was taking their photos
from across a 6 lane road.

A second photo of the same occasion. Look at Allison Yorra's expression.

At right is a larger version of Yorra for captions. I know somebody can do better than my guess as to her words or thoughts.

At any rate, the leftists apparently think that they can get a permit for an area, leave it completely vacant, and then rush over to tell people to leave. In this case, tgslTakoma was simply taking long distance photos.

They are the most camera-shy people that I know. You would think that they are criminals.

Oh, wait, that's right, they are criminals. Their primary claim to fame is disrupting the speeches or events of elected and appointed government officials. Disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and so forth. It is a crime, not the same as a regular, lawful protest. And, of course, they were caught on video committing theft a couple weeks earlier (see Code Pink & Kevin McCarron Caught Pink-Handed Stealing Marine Parents' Sign at Walter Reed). No wonderthey are camera-shy.

Bus of wounded heroes returns to FReeper cheers.

The highlight of evening was when the bus of wounded heroes returns from a free meal at Fran O'Brien's, a fancy DC restaurant. The bus driver turned on the interior light in the bus and there were mutual cheers and waves between the troops and the patriots. FReepers chanted "USA, USA."

Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude.  We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, and their families have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink and their ugly anti-troops agenda.

f we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. If some are immune to embarrassment, and, at the very least, we can hinder their psychological warfare operation against the wounded troops. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.

OK. PLease tell me. The wife and I are driving down to her new job in DC, around 6pm. We will be going by the Georgia Avenue entrances. Will we see you guys? Where can I park?

If you are not on the Georgia Ave side, how would I get to where you all are?

Bumpity bump! I'm hesitant to say I'll make it this week because everytime I make plans, something else comes up! One of these weeks though! It's a worthy cause!

Hi Bill, another great report. One thing...

The Sarcastics (Mr. and Mrs.), were inadvertantly left off of the Honor Roll.

:-)

There might be a person or two there at 6pm, but our official start time is 7pm.

We're right on Georgia Avenue, all four corners at the main entrance.

As tgsl says in #24, we're on the four corners of Georgia and Elder and the entrance to WRAMC (there's a traffic light for the intersection). As BillF says above:
Please join us this Friday, Feb 3, at 6:30 pm

Some of our long distance travelers (they know of whom I write) get on the scene a little earlier.

I sent you a FReepmail.

Plenty of parking, more details are in my FR-mail. You can park on some side street or maybe some part of Georgia Ave.

We would be there on both sides of Georgia Ave at the 4 corners of the Walter Reed main gate (Georgia Ave and Elder St; 7200 Elder St) beginning about 6:30 up to about 9:30 pm.

Hope to see you there!

Thanks. I've asked the mods to correct that. Hopefully, before I am subjected to caustic sarcasm. :)

"Sorry about that, number 13!"

Nice caption.

I saw a small segment of Eve Ensler talking on C-Span. I had to change the channel.

How about this?

We captured all 4 corners,
and now we fill them with celebration
of our troops!

Keep the entrance to Walter Reed a
Commie-Free Zone!

Come on out to cheer our troops and their families as they enter and leave the hospital.

There is a church on the corner opposite the main gate. They have a parking lot at the corner of Georgia and Elder streets. We have been parking there.
