Sheehan: I Felt 'Humiliated'

Capitol Police may have dropped charges against antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan and apologized, but that apparently hasn't made her any less angry over her arrest, or how she was treated as it happened.

Sheehan was one of two people kicked out of the audience of President Bush's State of the Union address in t-shirt-related incidents Tuesday night, but she was the only one arrested, on unlawful conduct counts.

She was wearing a t-shirt that alluded to the number of soldiers killed in Iraq: "2245 Dead. How many more?"

Also removed was Beverly Young, wife of Rep. C.W. "Bill" Young, R-Fla., whose t-shirt had the opposite message: "Support the Troops — Defending Our Freedom."

Sheehan was taken away in handcuffs before Mr. Bush's arrival at the Capitol and charged with a misdemeanor, while Young left the gallery and therefore was not arrested, said Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer in a statement.

Gainer apologized, saying, "The officers made a good faith, but mistaken effort to enforce an old unwritten interpretation of the prohibitions about demonstrating in the Capitol.

"The policy and procedures were too vague," he added. "The failure to adequately prepare the officers is mine."

But, back home in Los Angeles Wednesday, Sheehan told Linda Alvarez of CBS station KCBS-TV, "They violated my civil rights they humiliated me. They treated me like, instead of having just a t-shirt on, I had a weapon."

Sheehan was a guest of California Democratic Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey.

And who sent her to Venezuela? Mr. Moore? Mr. Soros? Pelosi? Boxer? Kennedy? We all know if she spent her own money then it was blood money she gained from exploiting her son. The hag should be sent to the same place Andrea Yates is going. They could be cellmates. They deserve each other.

The one here who should be humiliated is Representative Woolsey who gave this scumbag a ticket and had it shoved in her face. But I am sure the Representative isnt humiliated she is more than likely almost as big a POS as Cindy.

Tough call there. I saw on BOR last night that Lynn Woolsey and Barbara Lee were behind this in an attempt to embarrass the President. They knew the loonie is unbalanced and they were hoping for a confrontation. I wouldn't be surprised if Miss America (Pelosi)didn't know something about it too. Time for an investigation and for these nasty bi***es to be publicly rebuked.

In order to be humiliated, one must have a sense of shame. Not possible in Cindy's case. She was wearing a t-shirt that alluded to the number of soldiers killed in Iraq: "2245 Dead. How many more?" I'll bet she had several more shirts printed up with "2246" "2250", etc., and was hoping that more soldiers would be reported dead before the SOTU so she could up the ante. ------------------------------------------------------------- The pictures I saw were not even that classy--her shirt was black, and the only screen printed number you could see was "2"--the "246" was written on a piece of white tape and stuck to the shirt. I don't know anything about Chief Gainer and I feel he doesn't need to apologize, but his statement is an example of real leadership. I hope its characteristic of the man and not a facade one time occurance.
