Back when Harold Ford, Jr. challenged Pelosi, I tried to research the question, "how often is it, that when the majority/minority leader position is vacant, and the standing whip seeks the office, that the standing whip is elected?"
My data was somewhat incomplete, but it appeared to me that the standing whip is usually elected.
So, today's result is a surprise.
Hmmm...I don't know how Blunt could punish anyone without Boehner's knowledge at least...

There will never be a candidate for anything we agree with 100% on anything and that radio host just sounds like a jerk. Has he done one lick of research or is it just a case of "my guy didn't win so the winner must be evil"?

YOU overlook the facts.Well, I went on what YOU posted; are you lying?
Your OWN post says he only voted against it because of something he was CONCERNED ABOUT.
Now, one more time, how does that make him FOR OPEN BORDERS?

Santorum pushed a bill that went down because it didn't raise it enough for the Dems. It was a ploy and it worked.Exactly. It showed the Democrats don't give one rip about the minimum wage.

I love that tagline, but for me, having to point out sarcasm takes the fun out of being sarcastic.

Your analysis was of a two man race.
Shadegg clearly played the spoiler role, it seems to me.

I can think of better ploys- like don't bring up any bill and make the case why the minimum wage hurts the poor.

Potential linguistic history in the making - will his mistakes become a catchword? I hope he doesn't pull any serious boners or his face could end up in the dictionary.

>>>>Apparently, the ACU liked him so much, they rewarded him with a 100% rating in 2004.You have to look at the indivdual votes on which the ACU reached the 100% rating for Boehner. None of those votes in 2004 were on immigration legislation. It doesn't look like Boehner is an open borders Pubbie, but he sides with the employer and doesn't support punishment when it comes to them violating US law in hiring illegals.

Aside from his excellent qualifications, he's a hunk. He IS! He's got the prettiest eyes. Sexy. Looks like he spends a lot of time in the tanning booth, though. But he is a lot more pleasant to look at than DeLay or Blunt.
