SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) -- A baby girl remained hospitalized in good condition Sunday after being thrown into a lake in Brazilian park wrapped inside a plastic bag, doctors said.
The baby, apparently 2 months old, was rescued Saturday afternoon by a couple who heard her crying in the Pampulha Lagoon in Belo Horizonte, a city about 500 kilometers (300 miles) northeast of Sao Paulo.
Amateur footage broadcast on Brazilian TV showed rescuers using a long tree branch to pull the black plastic bag out of the water. They opened the bag and found the girl -- wearing a pink dress -- soaked inside. (Watch shocked rescuers open bag and find a crying infant -- 1:50)
"I heard what sounded like a cat," Jose da Cruz told Globo TV. "Then the noise was increasing and it caught my attention."

What's the female equivalent name for "Moses?"
"Authorities had no leads on why the baby was thrown in the lagoon."
Maybe she was 'unwanted'.
Mosecita?
Oh, yeah, well, that would make it all right then.
On second thought since she is a girl, what was Moses wife's name???
Just another post-birth abortion...
I think I'm going to throw up.
FoxNews showed the video, said the mother was located, arrested.
She denies throwing the baby into the river, but said she did give the baby to some homeless people.
That's difficult for a girl's name -- think of the teasing!
Sure, blame it on the homeless guy. Anybody who watches Law & Order knows that the homeless are really the eyes and ears of law enforcement.
Well, I guess so.
I believe - my own theory here - that since the arguement of 'personhood'..... (you know the 'pro-choice' movement has been forced to admit a fetus is a human being so now they claim "yes, but its not a 'person'")..... that we have moved onto the "self-awareness" rational.
Ask yourself: "If you, a newborn, are unaware of your existance....does it (i.e. your life) matter, or at least, outweight those who are self-aware?"
Don't laugh. Its a serious question in the Peter Singer/eugenics crowd.
I believe the current nomenclature is, "Urban Outdoorsmen."
We had trouble locating a charged loaded camera to shoot my daughter blowing out her birthday candles at her 18th Birthday Party and we live in a pretty technologically advanced enviorment.
There actually was a girl named Zipporah (known as Zippy) who was a majorette at the big high school in our area back in 1946.
I wonder if she makes the same comments about abortion.
Nothing new here except the means of disposal.
so they just happen to have the camera there. saw it on TV. this one smells.

Brazilians always seem to have video cameras in-hand. It must be a cultural thing but they always have the latest stuff, digital cameras, digital video, and the whole nine yards.
