Nevada Sen. John Ensign and an Aide Are Injured in a Car Crash in Las Vegas
Sen. John Ensign was taken to a hospital Monday after his car was hit by another vehicle just off the Las Vegas Strip, police said.
The Nevada Republican and an aide, who was driving, were taken to Sunrise Hospital with minor to moderate injuries, police said. A hospital spokeswoman said there was no record of Ensign being admitted.
Ensign spokesman Jack Finn said the senator and aide had minor bumps and bruise, and he expected Ensign to be released later in the day. Their car was hit as they headed to McCarran International Airport, Finn said.
The car was struck almost head-on around 7:30 a.m., a few blocks east of the Strip, police spokesman Bill Cassell said. Cassell said he did not immediately know the identity of the driver of the other vehicle or if anyone else was hurt.

Cheney cannot vote on cloture, only in the case of a 50-50 tie. Since you need 60 votes for cloture, that won't happen.

Here's where I think Cheney would be needed: cloture fails, the Republicans raise a point of order (Nuclear Option) that only a majority of the 100 is required for cloture on votes to confirm nominations. The parliamentarian sustains the point of order & the Dems appeal that ruling to the full Senate. The Senate votes 50 - 50, The VP in his official capacity as President of the Senate casts the tie-breaking vote & only a majority is required for cloture thereafter (until the rule is changed again.)

So true. If I only watched movies/shows made by Republicans I'd be limited to the point where I wouldn't watch much of anything. I'm not a big fan of Chuck Norris and Bruce Willis movies, and Frasier and Magnum PI are both off the air.
At 4:00 - 15 minutes goes to Reid or his designate, 15 minutes then to Frist or his designate to close debate before the cloture vote.
