Good Monday morning, fellow Freeper political junkies. One of the more ridiculous episodes of political theater is about to play itself out on the Senate floor, as the John Kerry-led democrats mount an exercise in political futility which will further expose their total irrelevance..So join us today, or drop in on occasion, for the festivities...
Oh Geez ... coffee - keyboard moment .. LOL!
It would behoove Evan Bayh to vote Aye, but I am not going to hold by breath.
Yes is 57 and I don't think it's going higher. But not a real indicator of the filibuster thing. I wonder what kind of mention would be in the SOTU address if Alito's been successfully filibustered, huh?
Found some info on Boxer - Indian tribes. Point Reyes Light newspaper:
http://www.ptreyeslight.com/stories/nov02_00/miwok.html
Point Reyes Light - November 2, 2000 Sen. Boxer ambushes Woolsey, adds casino rights for Miwok...
"However, since then the bill had stalled in the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. In the rush before the close of the 106th Congressional session, Boxer last week added the gambling rights, repackaged the bill with other Indian-related business in a single omnibus bill and sent it back down to the House, where it was approved with little debate and without Woolseys knowledge..."

"...The company has retained Darius Anderson of Platinum Advisors LLC to lobby for its interests in Sacramento. (Anderson partnered with U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer's son, Douglas, to buy an option on property desired by Station Casinos, but I digress....
Mr. Reid, Mr. Dean, any comments?
probably more than 60 for cloture, less than 60 for appointment.
I imagine Bush would put Alito right up in the balcony next to Laura to remind everybody what they haven't done.
Now he's "troubled".
What is the latest ...just got in.
thanks!
I knew he would be troubled.
59/41 this poll needs a lot of freeper help.
Who cares...it's time the Republicans stop all this nonsense anyway. I'd like to see the nuke option long before 2006 elections.
"I like Sen. Grassley. I really do..."
Thought it was just me. Listening to Sen Grassley is akin to watching Grass grow. I had to go to the gym. Did Lindsey Graham speak yet?

I'm about to get physically ill.
If I hear "a woman's right to choose" one more time I'm going to scream. Have the guts to call it what it is - a woman's right to abort her unborn child. Period.
If I had a dollar every time a Democrat was "troubled" about Alito... oh me oh my, I'd be a very rich man.
WOW.....Thanks for the link.
The Ayman is still alive, based on a new tape and the "experts". Oh, wrong thread...
"probably more than 60 for cloture, less than 60 for appointment."
As far as I am concerned, Alito can get 51 for appointment.
Byrd is against the filibuster of judicial nominees because it's nowhere to be found in the Constitution.
