And I'm sure the poll isn't skewed to the right.

allowing illegal immigrants in the U.S. to earn citizenship if they learn English, have a job and pay taxes. Imagine.

Round em up, pick em up, head em out ...back to the border. I would support with my dollars a fund to round them all up and ship them back to their native country. And forget about the dribble of, they are just doing it to support their families, it is THEIR countries responsibility to provide them a job, not Uncle Sam.

First, let's plug the hole in our sinking boat. Then, start bailing.

Yes. Plus, the illegal's ability to immigrate to the US in the future would be revoked. I believe that is on the books presently but, of course, is not being enforced.

TIMEs Poll shows that half (50%) of Americans favor deporting all illegal immigrants back to their home countries (45% oppose).Okay, let's start with the 50% who support deportation of illegals.
Now subtract from that 50% the voters who are Democrats and yes even liberals who want to see illegals deported. What you have left is a position that the Republican party won't support.
The numbers are puny.
We need more people who support the position to deport illegals. The politicians would follow.

Sounds good to me. Where can I send my check to start the ball rolling?

Has to be more than half. I know Democrats who support this.

Time poll: half of Americans favor deporting all illegal immigrants back to their home countriesOf course. And the other half wants to get them to the welfare office and registered Democrat.

We need more people who support the position to deport illegals. The politicians would follow.More people would be in support of deportation if they understood that the law now is DEPORTATION for illegally entering the country. Since it doesn't happen people assume it's because it isn't yet law.

I don't think so, the issue crosses party lines.

I think what you need to do is to have workers permits BUT they can only be obtained from the home country. I think once that is passed you can deport anyone who doesn't have a valid workers permit.
Give a 6 months notice that the law will go into effect and anyone caught without a valid workers permit will not only be deported, but they will never be allowed back in the country. That way you don't have the expense of rounding them up and deporting them. If they have a current job, their employers can attest that they have a job waiting and they should be immediately issued permits FROM THEIR OWN COUNTRY AND ONLY IF THEY ARE THERE IN PERSON!
