When they become a victim of the war I don't look at them like regular Americans. I look at them as another insurgent obstacle that bites the dust.

Pardon me for saying so, but that is insane and disgusting.

No need to pardon yourself.

"Improvised Explosive Device. Usually artillery shells rigged to explode"

Some IEDs are a lot bigger than others. The one that did this damage below was VERY VERY big. Not made of artillery shells.

Bigotry is ugly in any form.

The word "bigot" implies an unreasonable and unjustified dislike and/or discrimination against someone that is based on untruths and distortions and ignorance of the true nature of the person...

Hence, describing a lawyer as "bottom-feeding" is not bigotry.

In the same vein, "ambulance-chaser" and "shyster" would not be bigotry.

Simply the truth.

I presume you are a lawyer, as experience has taught me that the bitten dog barks first.

You have my deepest sympathy.

I wouldn't of said that same type of comment if I were alive during the time of WW2 about the media when the MSM was actually on our side.

I've not heard or read that. Do you have a link to support that conclusion?

I've heard this too, from those who were on the ground there. Don't know how widespread the attitude is, but it does exist.

You mean, are they praying to Mother Sheehan, or is she the one praying for the journalists?

Hmmmm. Interesting question. I'd probably go with the former, since they tend to worship her so much. ;-)

I'll second yours also.

As I said before, disgusting.

I wish I could say I am amazed at what I am seeing written here about this American, but I can't.

It can be both my opinion and fact. The two are not mutually exclusive.

True. I should have said it's not just your opinion.

Nothing warms my heart and makes me feel quite so patriotic as a message board coward with a persecution complex cheering for the serious injury and possible death of an American citizen (a married father of four no less! hurrah! A whole family of traitorous cowards has been grievously affected!). I sure hope that when a relative of mine is killed or injured I will be able to log on to FreeRepublic for an instantaneous assessment of their character and the justice of their misfortune by someone who knows nothing about them either personally or professionally.

Journalists are like FReepers

Well, there is one small difference. Most Freepers support the United States and don't go out of their way to damage it and try to get our military killed with things like Abu Garahb and other non scandals. Most Freepers do not give aid and comfort to enemies, knowing that it will cost the lives of journalists. Most Freepers don't consider terrorists kindred spirits and freedom fighters. Most freepers don't hope that America will fail in this war.

Granted, some journalists do support America but not anyone that works for ABC.

That said, I do feel for the families and the two injured but I don't let that cloud my judgment as to what they intended to do over there. The net result of which would have cost more of our soldiers lives. I would guess that everyone in the media sleeps just fine at night after they get people killed with false stories about korans being flushed down toilets etc. My sympathy is, therefore somewhat strained.

Oh please. This is not a set up. They are American targets, they got hurt in the war zone.

As much as I disagree with ABC on many political issues, I wish their correspondents no harm. They would bash the President with or without this.

Prayers for the injured and their families.

"The brutality is not reported by the media..."

The media will never report what has been done to the likes of Jessica Simpson, and others. They only show what the brutes do when they have to, such has hanging charred bodies from bridges, and such....

Could you please let us know if you hear any updates....thanks in advance.

I'll try, but I'm going to be out for a while today. I'd suggest leaving your TV on your local ABC station. If this turns out to be anything really bad, the other news channels won't report it until ABC does, out of professional courtesy. (Unless some young hotshot working the weekend shift at CNN or MSNBC decides to be an ass and jump the gun, anyway.)

The injured photographer is a Canadian who is good buddies with the ABC Nightline reporter who recently joined Al Jazeera.
