Exactly. Vargas was to report on the SOTU live from New York and Woodruff live from Iraq. Woodruff's role was to be a spoiler for the speech.

As far as we know, she is alive. She likely wishes that she was not. The brutality is not reported by the media. It is inhuman.
Rush limbaugh gave an excellent talk a couple weeks ago about the infusion of liberal journalists into the media. He said they are often good students who are eventually indoctrinated by their profs that they can change the world through their reporting (to their liberal/socialist slant). So most now do not go in to be objective reporters but to put their left slant on the stories. So a lib lawyer turned anchorman is a leftist idealogues dream.

Too bad. MSM will now be making Mr. Woodruff a martyr forgetting all about American militray casualties. You know MSN will caste all the blame for this incident on President Bush.

ABC's announced their SOTU coverage plans (Vargas in NY and Woodruff in Iraq) on Friday.
Wonder why Woodruff and his cameraman decided to travel with the Iraqis in the convoy instead of the Americans?
He was traveling with the Iraqis when he was blown up.
He and his cameraman were filming from the moving vehicle when the terrorists detonated the device. I would expect the "freedom fighters" saw that they were vulnerable targets.
