Unfortunately, so true!
I would buy into your theory IF I saw a change in the mindset of the newer, younger members of the DEMS in Congress...
BUT, Osama Obama, Debbie Wasserman-Schulz, Kendrick Meek...these people are MORE deluded than even Kennedy and Kerry!!!
BUT, you look at Coburn and Pence...they are new..and are bucking the "old guard" in the Republican Party...not making friends along the way...to be sure....but they are getting attention...and I FOR ONE...am paying close attention.
He should be!!
There are so many huge, profound, wonderfully thought out, intelligent and informative posts today that it is almost impossible to keep track of them. There are at least 100 posts that could be post of the day, or month, or year. This has to be the single best Sunday thread I have ever seen.
That would be a fun debate...but, I would use my closed captioning!!
The "populism" of coal miners and Midwest farmers is very classic hard left socialism in this country. Grapes of Wrath and William Jennings Bryan's "cross of gold" speech are just two examples. The modern "pointy headed liberal" left of the big cities, universities and media have heaped scorn on these folk and turned them into Reagan Democrats. A leftist demagogue who could successfully exploit these folks could be really dangerous.
BJ Clinton was a minor version of what type of monster could emerge from such a witches brew. Fortunately he has proved to be only personally venal and corrupt, not a "true believer" in some great crusade. We could easily see our own Ahmadinejad emerge in such a populist movement of the left.
When Byron gets in proximity to MSM, DNC rumpswabs... his mind goes blank.
I am glad I'm not the only one that notices that.
LOL!
It was date #3 with the same guy....
I will embelish more...but no need to derail the thread about my dating life....LOL! (or lack thereof...)
My pleasure! We had a lot of rain and wind yesterday a.m. - the wind must've blown in down there ;-)
No rain today, yet..
Question, since you're obviously thinking this through. Would the argument along the line of Democrats only capable of nominating candidates of the caliber of a Carter or Clinton be effective in reminding voters of what happens when a Democrat is elected?
I agree with you about this thread...it is really a good one today...that is why I have been having trouble keeping up...I want to read all of them.
BTW...I was just watching a debate on Fox about health care..and the dem person was blaming Bush for the cost of health care tripling since Clinton..blech.
But, it made me remember how mad it has made me these last few weeks...after the NSA thing was leaked by the NYTImes...and one after another dem was coming out and saying "Bush isn't KING"...he can't just listen to everyones calls...
That "Bush isn't King" was even said by Judge Napalitano on Fox....
But....they expect him to fix everything, be responsible for everything(even hurricane damage)...and make sure every American has a happy life.
So which is it?? They can't have it both ways.
I believe that what Byron York said was true. GHB is very popular with Conservatives because we agree with him about 85 percent of the time, which is probably the same rate as the Rino's agreeing with him. Both Rino's and Conservatives will give him the benefit of the doubt about the rest of the issues that we find fault with like the Borders/Immigration issue. All I saw on Meet the press was a Bug eyed Russert attacking BUsh on a wide variety of issues and trying to get Frist to go along. I thought Frist did a good job,and Bug Eyes was not listening and then went into another Chris Matthews type monologue/diatrabe masked as a question. The only differences between Mathews and Russert, is Mathews Spits all his 100 paragraph questions and is better looking, thinner, and crazier, and he keeps jerking backwards to take another breath while Russert leans forward like he is too deaf to hear the answers to the questions. Russert was really weird today.
"How much of it did HE get?"
According to capitaleye, McCain got a total receipt was $5k over 2 years from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. That said, he's a Sen from AZ, so I highly suspect he gets LOTS of $$$s from tribes.

There will be a lull in the thread for a while...until the afternoon showing of the Fox Sunday show...
I haven't seen it yet...I save it for my afternoon viewing pleasure...
SO...you can tell us some things...if you want to!!!
I'll go with the latter.
Oh...then I must have misunderstood the question...
Dang...I have been blasting York for no reason then...I thought he was saying that MCCAIN was popular with the Conservatives...and, judging from FR...that isn't true...
Since it was President Bush he was talking about..then I do agree with that...
Thanks for pointing out my mistake...
