RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) - The leader of Hamas suggested Saturday that the Islamic group could create a Palestinian army that would include its militant wing - responsible for scores of deadly attacks on Israelis - in the aftermath of its crushing victory in parliamentary elections.

I'm sure the first order of business with be the annoucement that Iran and Russia will be opening embassies in gaza.
Iran definitely had a hand in this election. They must be arming Hamas and Hezbollah and PIJ with missles and possibly WMD, or at least they will in the near future.

Speaking at the World Forum in Davos, Switzerland, former President Clinton suggested Saturday that the West should be more open to eventual talks with Hamas.
"You've got to find a way to at least open doors ... and I don't see how we can do it without more contact," he said. Hamas might "acquire a greater sense of responsibility, and as they do, we have to be willing to act on that."
Pardon my cynicism, but does anyone really doubt that this will happen? Israel once again will be forced by the international community of fools to negotiate with Allah's merry band of murderers.

IMO we had best get ready for a period of "containment", and just as we found it wise to keep talking both to the Russian leadership and past them to the Russian and Eastern European people at the height of Communist power and repression, we are likely going to have to do the same in the Islamic world.
