Now that Islamic parties can clearly see that Iran was not a fluke, and that "free and fair elections" are the road to power, it seems likely to me that within the decade most countries in the region will be a Theocratic states established on the "one man, one, vote, one time" principle.

IMO we had best get ready for a period of "containment", and just as we found it wise to keep talking both to the Russian leadership and past them to the Russian and Eastern European people at the height of Communist power and repression, we are likely going to have to do the same in the Islamic world.
