Code Pink Leader Has Tantrum at Walter Reed - 01/27/06
January 27, 2006

Posted on 01/27/2006 9:46:07 PM PST by tgslTakoma

There I was, across the street, a six lane street. Just me. And my little camera.

I stood quietly on the empty sidewalk taking pictures of the Code Pink protest at Walter Reed. The one that used to be at the main entrance to the hospital, until they forgot to renew their permit for that location.

Now, they've taken to infesting a location down the street, in front of a small sidewalk park, but still in front of the hospital.

I had gone down alone, with my camera and tripod to document their little public protest.

I had less than a minute's peace to take photos before Allison Yorra and Ann Wilcox of Code Pink came across and told me that I would have to leave the empty sidewalk, across the street from their protest, because they had a permit for where I was standing.

I told them I wasn't disrupting their protest across the street, and that I was holding no signs but simply taking photos. They told me that I was not allowed to be there, and that the police would remove me. I encouraged them to call the police, because I wasn't demonstrating in their protest area, just taking photos, in their protest area where they weren't protesting. They initially declined to call the police, preferring to "handle it themselves."

By now, "Princess", Weasel and some guy with a black beret had joined Allison and Ann around me. They began to block my camera, which was focused on their public protest across the street. No matter which way I turned, there was Allison and her bully-boys.

So I stepped off the sidewalk and into the curb lane of the street, where MPDC does not issue permits unless the road is closed. Allison and the bullies quickly followed. I'd move. They'd move in front of me. I'd move again. They'd again block my view.

Here are a few photos I took:

Allison Yorra - Code Pink

Allison and "Princess" who both love to call our president a fascist, as they freely protest at a military hospital and try to bully a lone photographer.

Weasel scurries across the street to join in the leftist fun and games.

Allison's good side

I got lots of photos like this. Y'know, for a woman whose organization loves to sneak into places like the Dem and Republican conventions, the John Bolton hearings, various Rumsfeld hearings and events to unfurl banners and disrupt the events for the fawning MSM cameras - she sure does seem to dislike this camera operator.

Allison has help from Black Beret Guy to stop me from taking photos of their public protest.

Black Beret Guy and Ann Wilcox of Code Pink.

Allison and "Princess" - Her profile is definitely NOT her good side.

Allison got really bent out of shape when the other camera folk came down to film their gang assault on me. In a fit of anger, Allison Yorra yelled at us, calling us a bunch of nobodies and that nobody reads our blogs.

Your comments in post 252 are well stated and should be remembered. There is "history to the CodePinkos "vigil". Maybe we should re-tell it to the new followers of the threads.

I would like to NOT see their current signs in these posts...show the ones they used before they had to change them to meet the press pressure.

One picture showing them "still there" would do...then many-many more of the Freepers and their signs of thanks and love.

Now that would be a weekly, reading, celebration!

It could be cold, warm, light, dark, wet, dry, snowy, icy, sunny, foggy, starlit, moonless, mosquito infested, etc. they would not attend.

There would always be an excuse for a person who wanted to just sit and watch others do the work of supporting the troops and celebrating freedom!

I think I reacted so violently because of the teacher angle.

Imagine thinking a display case was important? Would this be a way to "preach to the choir" or provide a place for others to display their opinions in graffiti?

That's my bet! They will have to provide security to stop CodePink types from removing or defacing it.

What is forgotten also is Code Pink is a well trained Socialist group. They live on donations from who ever will write them a check. One of the reasons they can't give up is that it is their job and their volunteers are helping them make money. Gael doesn't sail unless she can use someone else's money. Exposure of these people who change their attack for PR purpose has to continue. Lack of money will keep them home. None of these womyn will do this on their own dollar.

I get my stupid ideas about the conservative temperament from things like this from the Federalist Papers and this from Ronald Reagan.

Other than that first post, which I admitted was too harsh, I've been trying to discuss an honest question I've had for a long time about what it means to be a conservative and what happens if one gets addicted to militant tactics. Why would you attack someone for that? Sheesh . . .

But, when it gets right down to it I did get my question answered. F -er- thank you all, very much!

Thanks for you lists of Support the Troops 'accomplishments'. Sorry about getting back to you so late, but I have my business to run in addition to putting together a post to you.

Your "resume" seems to be very centered around the comfortable sphere of the university and preaching to the choir. This does nothing to let our troops know that people really do support them. Try getting into one of the many blogs that communicate with the troops and send them letters, candy, gift packages, anything that the troops can see or put their hands on.

So that you know the D.C. FReepers do not just "act like 7 year olds" in front of Walter Reed, here is a list that I've personally been involved in with the D.C. Chapter. The links do not even begin to tell about the numerous personal activities that our members do directly for the troops in WR and in the combat zones.

I suspect you'll find some of the links very educational and "above the fray". We are, by our counter protests, even shaping the antiwar protesters way of protesting, ie.: moving them away from their comfortable corners and making them change their signs and tactics. We are also showing the general public (not just fellow conservatives) that there is another voice out there. We kept the local newspaper as close to being non-biased as possible when reporting on the Onley Debate, see link to Gazette in debate thread.

Basically, we celebrate our accomplishments as anyone does but can still engage the antiwar groups in civil manner. It just depends on the circumstances. One has to be there to understand the moment.

For the same reason I'd punch a drunk in the face after he smashed a chair over my head.

Where did you learn to be so condescending? Believe me, your stuoid ideas are all yours.

Other than that first post, which I admitted was too harsh, I've been trying to discuss an honest question I've had for a long time about what it means to be a conservative and what happens if one gets addicted to militant tactics. Why would you attack someone for that? Sheesh . . .

When you make a really bad first impression, you have to live with the consequnces. BTW, where did you learn to be so condescending?

But, when it gets right down to it I did get my question answered.

Hey, that's our policy, an answer with every ass whipping. Did I forget to ask, "Where did you learn to be so condescending"?

F -er- thank you all, very much! You're welcome, come back again when you can't stay so long.

.... F -er- thank you all, very much!

I guess by not saying what you are really thinking makes you more conservative and supportive of the troops. Actually, it seems to make you look like you have a lack of confidence in your beliefs. You would have been seen in a more positive light by our group if you stuck to your original statements and argued them, even if we disagreed with you. As an educator, you should have run rings around our side of the "debate".

The lesson to be learned from this exchange of ideas, dear teacher, is: answering your own questions is perfectly acceptable to get the answer you want to questions that have no basis in substance or fact.

If you really wanted to understand what it means to be a conservative and one who gets addicted to militant tactics, you're barking up the wrong tree with nothing more than another nothing comment and another insult.

Try being a tad conservative and being just a tad militant and bite me, and then maybe you'll have an answer to your question.

Or maybe you already have the answer, since you claim to be a conservative and you've waltzed in here slapping the DC FReepers with your esteemed rhetoric?

That was a joke, in reply to concretebob's #217!

Dr. R, I tried to share the source of where I got the idea that conservatives believe in reasoned discourse and I'm condescending?

I tried to explain to people that I'm simply trying to discuss an honest question I've had for awhile and I'm condescending?

I tried to show people that I don't just sit on my ass at the computer (thereby REALLY exposing myself to abuse) and I'm condescending?

Okay, you did. You and all your buddies, and here we are.

So, why can't we just sit down over there in the corner and have a little talk, man to man?
