Thanks for you lists of Support the Troops 'accomplishments'. Sorry about getting back to you so late, but I have my business to run in addition to putting together a post to you.
Your "resume" seems to be very centered around the comfortable sphere of the university and preaching to the choir. This does nothing to let our troops know that people really do support them. Try getting into one of the many blogs that communicate with the troops and send them letters, candy, gift packages, anything that the troops can see or put their hands on.
So that you know the D.C. FReepers do not just "act like 7 year olds" in front of Walter Reed, here is a list that I've personally been involved in with the D.C. Chapter. The links do not even begin to tell about the numerous personal activities that our members do directly for the troops in WR and in the combat zones.
I suspect you'll find some of the links very educational and "above the fray". We are, by our counter protests, even shaping the antiwar protesters way of protesting, ie.: moving them away from their comfortable corners and making them change their signs and tactics. We are also showing the general public (not just fellow conservatives) that there is another voice out there. We kept the local newspaper as close to being non-biased as possible when reporting on the Onley Debate, see link to Gazette in debate thread.
Basically, we celebrate our accomplishments as anyone does but can still engage the antiwar groups in civil manner. It just depends on the circumstances.
One has to be there to understand the moment.
