Good morning once again, all you fellow political junkies. Put on a fresh pot of coffee, put the sticky buns in the oven, put a fresh battery in the remote control, and join us for the latest episode of the world's greatest daytime soap opera, "As the Democrats Bloviate." Yup, once again, it's that time...
Yeah, something like that.
Thanks. That info is more than I have read before. Funny hw it was not trumpeted on the networks, isn't it? /s
Revisions of anti-Bush stories don't get much traction.
All of which is why she is imploding 3 years out. The only way I see her getting elected is if his heart gives out and can't campaign for her or dies and she gets a sympathy vote. The more she talks the better for George Allen -- who by contrast is very gentlemanly and soft-spoken.... hmmmm that brings up the contrast between her and Bill, he had that Southern drawl thing that added to his charisma.
Durbin, go home, you had your turn!
So we are left with only two conclusions. The person making the argument is either a complete politically ignorant fool or they are lying about their real agenda. Since I find it hard to believe anyone can be this utterly mentally incompetent, I must conclude you are lying.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH...
I just LOVE freepers!!
Durbin. Voting has pretty much been partisan.
Checked the forum. Sounds like one of Pat's brigade.
NOW WE GOT DURBIN...
A couple factors weigh in favor of moving ahead with the vote on Alito. There is little question he is qualified "as a matter understanding the law and how to apply it." There is no seroius question regarding his ethics, as there was with Fortas. The position is to the Supreme Court, not a lower court. And the public is not convinced that Judge Alito is a bad pick.
But where the rubber meets the road, the gang-of-14 has no "extraordinary circumstance" to hang the hat on. The GOP weaklings would reluctantly invoke the nuclear option, especially if it is crafted very narrowly (it would be) to attach to -ONLY- SCOTUS nominations.
Well, go look somewhere else then and stop disrupting THIS forum with your babbling.
Why does he get to go again? And he's just going over the same territory.
LOL!
Yeah! No kidding! Once is enough!
On a sidenote, Durbin reminds me of a prairie dog standing guard on top of the mound just to see if the coast is clear.
It's over. Senator Vitter, for example, isn't wavering. He just hasn't gotten around to announcing his stance yet. Maybe he's busy with other business, maybe he's out of town, etc. He's too good of a conservative to possibly vote against Alito. The fact that he's still technically on the list of unannounced Senators doesn't mean he's wavering and undecided. I only think there are three GOP Senators who could possibly vote "no". Those are Snowe, Collins, and Chafee, and I doubt more than one of them will.
I'm going to continue to respond to questions posed. If posters wish to FRee-mail instead, that's fine. But I'm not going to allow breath-taking, blind allegiance to the Republicrats to go unanswered.
LOL !!
