Adams' keen insight has him headed to become the Canadian version of Tom Oliphant--unemployed.
(Denny Crane: "I Don't Want To Socialize With A Pinko Liberal Democrat Commie. Say What You Like About Republicans. We Stick To Our Convictions. Even When We Know We're Dead Wrong.")
I think that a year's worth of liberal scandals did a lot to ease the way.
FNC is great, but I don't think it's enough to overturn a government, much as I admire the Washington Managing Editor.
1 year of free-er media would've doen its bit, sure. But let's not stray too far from the biggest reason the libs lost - the corruption scandal. And it wasn't fox news that exposed the scandal, was it?
IMO, it had little affect on how Canadians voted in last night's election. First off, one needs to order the channel if it is to be part of a cable/satellite package. Therefore, I don't believe many Canadians view it. I suspect that in the end, the Conservatives struck a chord with the core values of many here. Throw into the mix the liberal corruption and BS. People are starting to warm up to Harper ... and it will continue.

Welcome to FreeRepublic. Who's to say Freepers didn't have a hand in the process?
I would say that FNC probably did not have the affect on the election this article proposes, but I do know it will have a huge impact in the future. If you look at FNC, it was not until the 2000 and 2004 elections where some actual fair and balanced coverage made its way to the people. I expect the same for Canada.

Canada had Conservative governments long before Fox news. It's good to have a diversity of media perspectives, though.
World Freedom from Liberal/Socialist/Communism/Radical Islam/Despotism/etc. is just around the corner.
IT WAS KARL ROVE!
You're giving Fox News way, way, way too much credit.
First off -- there wasn't that great a shift in the popular vote -- Conservatives 36.25%, Liberals 30.22% NDP (Socialists) 17.49% -- still pretty left wing.
Id give the Internet more credit than Fox News. Other important factors:
Unification of the right-of-center parties to end the vote splitting on the right (happened too soon before the last election to have the desired effect);
Grass-roots organization;
Liberal corruption or sense of entitlement finally became too blatant for many voters theyre still lefties, but wanted to clean house;
An incredibly bad election campaign on the part of the Liberals it will probably be put in textbooks as an example of what not to do;
The National Post a fairly conservative national newspaper has more influence amongst thinking conservatives than Fox News.
That said, Fox probably helped to some extent which is doubtless why the Liberals kept it out for so long.
Good News, if true. And why shouldn't it be. It's better to light a candle than to curse (or live in) the darkness. Especially in a frozen hole like Canada.
Bump-mark. :)
This conservative movement has been gaining for a while now. FoxNews may have helped a bit. I think Canadians are just sick of the loons with their awful value system.
