I wanted to post some pictures from today's (well, technically yesterday's) 'March for Life' in DC.
Just before the March began...
Here is some evidence that Alito's Legacy is alive and well at Princeton!
Let the record show 'The eye of Ted Turner' (the enemy) was witness to this event -- But expect from CNN a twisted story (if any)...
The March is starting now (well, it was starting to move from where I was anyways)...
A guy in front of me had this message scrawled on the back of his sign...
This next photo's my favorite...She's the next generation! So many families were there. (I'm not a great photographer, but I think it could make a good cover for a pro-life magazine...maybe?) Adorable!
Some more 'in-march' photos...We were quite packed. The first one is looking frontwards up Capitol Hill. The next one looking behind...
Lot of Christian and other religious folk (Jewish etc). Here's an Orthodox Christian group who were lined up for a photo as I passed...
Arrival at the Supreme Court...
AMEN to the Next Photo!
Last but not least. We will not forget!
The liberal, abortion-loving MSM doesn't want anyone to hear what they have to say.
Someday I'll be there too.
By the way, your comments at the other thread yesterday were greatly appreciated by me. I hope what you had to say at least gave the other posters second thoughts. Their self-righteousness does not help our fight at all.
Wish I could have been there. . . .
In terms of wall-to-wall coverage, only EWTN did that. C-SPAN covered the speeches at the rally, and Fox News did segments.
Brit Hme last night was quite astonished at the size of the demonstration..
@@@@@@
Truthful coverage of this Annual event has to be one of MSMs greatest failures. It can only be because showing the size of the march would cause Americans to see something that the establishment media have decided may not be seen. I heard one commentator yesterday say the crowd was "easily several thousand."
This commentator had to know that just in the MCI Center mass there were over 19000 people, who all were present for the March.
The third week of January is always cold, frequently snowy or rainy, and yet the marchers fill Constitution Av from the Ellipse to the Capitol. Just doing a bit of math can provide anyone with a mind with the answer to how many 10's of thousands are there.
I am reminded of how the numbers of participants are overestimated whenever the cause is a pet of the media, such as anti-war marches. We hear words like 'quarter of a million', '2 hundred thousand', '5 hundred thousand', etc.
I'd love to see some comparisons of photos of crowd shots of the March for Life with these other DC gatherings on the Mall.
Thanks for the ping!
The number was definitely in the hundreds of thousands. In the Washington Post article on the March, they cited a supposed police estimate of 70,000 (I thought the DC police weren't supposed to that anymore), but that is completely bogus. At the youth rally and Mass at the MCI Center, there was a full house (they had to turn people away), and the MCI Center seats more than 20,000! When the Mass let out, the youth walked down 7th Street, NW, and it looked like the March was already underway! I was near the head of line, and after reaching the base of Capitol Hill, I stopped to watch the March go by, right near the EWTN tent, and it took the March over an hour to pass by!
See my post #30.
Great pictures. From the perspective of the pictures at the stage, we must have been doggone near standing right next to each other. A great crowd yesterday. Very heartening as always to see all the young folks.
There was really only one place on the March route where the pictures of the aftermath of abortion were prominent this year. I had my 6 year old granddaughter on my shoulders and it was easy to shield her from that with my sign. Tougher to shield your older daughters but it really is an experience you should have with your family. You are a good pro life guy, I'd like to meet you in DC next year.
Huge crowd Pyro, much bigger than last year.
Scroll down a bit and click on March link. About and hour and a halfs worth.
Same here, I've taken all of my grandkids. We prepare them but we don't dwell on it and we find that neither do they. You're a good Grandpa Mud.
We had a great turnout yesterday in Atlanta inspite of a heavy downpour. Here's a link with pictures: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1563669/posts . Zell Miller was there walking in the rain.
Do these nice people know that overturning Roe wouldn't change the status quo very much when it comes to abortion?
Overturning Row by definition changes the status quo and you'll find that these "fine people" are actually cognizant of that fact and many more that obtain in the abortion argument.
