NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Mayor Ray Nagin suggested that recent destruction from hurricanes Katrina, Rita and other natural disasters is a sign that "God is mad at America," and also mad at black communities for tearing themselves apart with violence and divisive politics.
"Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country," Nagin said as he and other city leaders commemorated Martin Luther King Day. "Surely he doesn't approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves."
Joking that he may appear to have "post-Katrina stress disorder," Nagin, who is black, talked of an imaginary conversation with the late civil rights leader. They "talked," he said, while he was thinking Monday about what to say at the ceremony outside City Hall to kick off a walking parade in King's honor.

Think there is a Plan. . .and think we have a choice; whether to follow it. . .or not. . .at least at the 'human level'. I don't think God plans for children to die horrible deaths at the hands of child abusers. . .but, it happens. Man's choice. . .surely not God's choice. . .
That said. . .if Nagin beieves he has done 'wrong' and God is mad. . .then I hope he is flying right by now. . .but I doubt it.

What an superlative way for this idiot to get "W" to really open the federal coffers for that cesspool.
Nagin is just a good ole boy and this is how good ole boys talk and act. The difference is white good ole boys can't talk this way anymore: "This City will be white! God wants it that way! You white people got punished because you didn't follow God's rules. I need all you white people to vote for me, we will keep this city white!" Racism is racism is racism no matter what color.
AND THIEVES, AND MURDERERS, AND MOLESTORS AND VOODOOERS...WORLDWIDE.
Ray Nagin needs psychiatric intervention and spiritual help and right quick. God's wrath is applied just like God tells us it is and will be and it's no surprise that even about this, Ray Nagin gets it all wrong. He's certainly a misguided individual.

Speaking of "mad," Mr. Mayor ... those who the gods seek to destroy, they first drive mad. Ponder the meaning of those words, in between channelling politically useful dead people.

Look, Mayor Wonka. When God is mad at a country, He don't send in no surgical strike. Perhaps He is sending you a message. Something along the lines of, "Thou shalt not leave hundreds of buses in a parking lot."
