52% of Americans: Impeach Bush on wiretaps (Zogby)
WorldNetDaily ^ | 16 January 2006

A new Zogby poll indicates a majority of Americans want Congress to consider impeaching President Bush if he wiretapped American citizens without a judge's approval.

Respondents were asked if they agreed or disagreed with the following statement:

"If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

The poll found that 52 percent agreed, 43 percent disagreed and 6 percent said they didn't know or declined to answer.

"The American people are not buying Bush's outrageous claim that he has the power to wiretap American citizens without a warrant," said Bob Fertik, co-founder of the left-leaning group AfterDowningStreet.org which commissioned the survey. "Americans believe terrorism can be fought without turning our own government into Big Brother."

The poll interviewed 1,216 adults in the U.S. from Jan 9-12, and has a 2.9 percent margin of error.

As one might expect, the respondents' political affiliation played a role in their answer, as 66 percent of Democrats favored impeachment, as did 59 percent of Independents, but only 23 percent of Republicans.

One month ago, one-third of Americans polled by Rasmuseen Reports said they believe Bush should be impeached.

"Are we up to 99% agreement yet that Zogby would sell his sister, daughter, wife and grandmother if there's a buck to be made providing bogus polling information to willing Democratic media shills?"

If they're stopid enough to buy them, why should we care?

Come November they'll see how worthless they are.

US population 300 million.

1,216 = .000004% of the population. These polls claiming to represent the opinion of the American public do not survey enough people for the poll to be taken seriously. A minimum of 10%(30,000,000) would be needed for that purpose.

Pollsters know who to poll. I've never gotten a call.

You are lucky.
And...if you ever do, hang up.
I accepted my first and last when it turned into a five-minute
gauntlet of questions that seemed to last a day.

I think it must have been by the LA Times when they were scrambling to
keep the San Fernando Valley from breaking away from the rest of LA.

"If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

I would say impeach. However, the question at hand is

"If President Bush wiretapped suspected al queda international communications with American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

Here I would say do not impeach.

Zogby asked a rigged question.

Those 2 words are the secret to this poll.  Congress "should consider" is such an intangable that of course the libs bought it.

Congress "should consider" the activities of the New York Times.

Congress "should consider" if Ted Kennedy is working drunk every day.

Congress "should consider" if MSM is impartial.

ETC........Bob

No one should ever take Zogby seriously again after his ridiculous polls on Election Day. He's a farce.

These are the only 7 words in the entire worthless article you need to read.

"If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

I suspect most FReepers would agree.

Of course, if the question were:
"If President Bush wiretapped American citizens communicating with terrorists outside of the US, without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

We already know the US public would disagree.

This just means the Rats and MSM are right on the money to keep misinforming the public by portraying this as domestic wiretapping instead of wiretapping our enemy's communications.

What do we say about impeaching the news propagandists?

-- or ride them out on the rails like the good ol' days!

""If President Bush wiretapped American citizens without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment."

"If President Bush assaulted, robbed and mutilated eight widows and orphans, do you agree or disagree that Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment." 99.4% of respondents polled said yes.

MSM headline the next day: "99.4% of Americans favor impeaching Bush."

Let me guess the full text of Zogby's actual question:

"Given that many legal experts are stating unequivocally that Pres. Bush knowingly broke the law in authorizing these wiretaps, do you think Congress should consider impeaching him?"

Secret sauce = 45% dems, 20% indies, 35% pubbies

It must be worse than that; even that would still only put 49.5% in favor of impeachment. Given the breakdown by party, it would have to be more like 45% dem, 28% indy, and 27% pub to get the 52% number.

The whole this is garbage...but, will probably be on the front page of the NYTimes..and WaPo...

I wish they would have had a 2nd question: If we were attacked again..and thousands of Americans, including children were killed...and the President could have prevented it...if he had the power to monitor calls from al-queda..but he DIDN'T, should he be blamed??
