Jan. 13, 2006 Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.
U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

They will claim it was a wedding party before it is all over...lol
<The senior Pakistani intelligence official said that hours before the strike some unidentified guests had arrived at the home of one tribesman called Shah Zaman that was destroyed in the attack. The official did not elaborate on whether those people were believed to be terror suspects.
Zaman survived the attack and told AP he had no links with militants.
Thanks. Looks better your way!
ABC has problems...
The Pakistani military suggesting that Zawahiri is dead is a lot like the California Republican Party claiming Schwarzenegger is a conservative.
You're right, dems will be sad...
Very interesting in light of the report that the planes had been circling for days over the area. I doubt Zarhiri would have arrived after the sight of planes. Probably someone else to 'confirm' he was there....the mole.
Yes, indeed, he is a medical doctor (and OBL's personal physician). He's a pediatrician, by specialty...
the infowarrior
I have made it a point to celebrate at repeat reports though! No sense wasting good news :))
Avon calling.
What I'm saying is that if the drone's presence was no secret then theres a chance Zawahiri wasnt near there if he had any clue. I hope he was there!
Very true, I hope so!!!
"You're right, dems will be sad..."
Someone posted that Kerry is arriving in Pakistan today..lol...he will probably try to take credit and have a big press conference.
This is great news if it is true. Finally the CIA got something right, maybe the re-structuring and organizational changes made under Bush is paying off. God bless the USA.
I also think that airplane that crashed in Iran that was carrying a top Revolutionary Guard commander was a CIA or Mossad job... we will see.
I think the last three IRAN plane "accidents" were taken out by the US.
HAARP.
haha
Oh, well heck yes...come to think of it...you're so right.
I just finished one glass of Zinfandel otherwise I would
raise a glass to toast Good News and Possible Good News.
Smiling...
