Jan. 13, 2006 Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.
U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

Sorry about that ....
Is this 'Z's first death? Will we have Z sitings?
I don't mind throwing a party at every Z death report. Just wondering if this was the first :)
Rock the CASBAH
The AGM-114 Hellfire only weighs about 100 pounds.. cant possibly create a blast felt that was noticed at that distance... or maybe they just heard it.
Got a Kensington wirelss RF. But I cleaned it up. Thanks for your kind offer anyway. :O)
When it was shown on TV here, it was in the 90's. I'm not sure when it was filmed.
in all seriousness, there was only one other legitimate report of AZs death, some time ago - it was coupled with the report of the US obtaining a DNA sample, I believe from his brother who was being held in egypt.
"By the way does anyone here think the RATS will be happy about this if it is confirmed to be true?"
John Kerry: "I knew we should have been going after Zawahari all along. We spent billions in Iraq and it took one missile to end the war on terror. Bush should be impeached."
thanks for the ping!

"Glad to be here" works.. go with it!
Actually, it can. Case in point- I live approx 10Ks from the live fire impact area of Fort Hood. When conditions are right, I can feel the windows shake on my home from hellfires impacting during live fire exercises. Also, the hellfires used may have been either the AGM 114M Blast Fragmentation or AGM 114N Thermobaric missile. I suspect it might have been the latter since those are currently being used primarily on buildings with devastating effect. The shock wave to explosive weight ratio on that one is quite large.
"Was CNN on the phone with Al Zawahiri at the time?"
Does anyone know Rockefellers whereabouts?
I am assuming the Pakistanis...but, remember, CNN sold its soul to be in Baghdad all those years before the war...
So, maybe they are doing the same thing in Pakistan.LOL
i'd love to see some clips from those predator cameras.
Capture and torture = first choice.
Kill = second choice.
Capture and not torture = third choice.
ROTFLMAO! You're a man after my own heart :)
I would too!
I sure do miss the coverage we had when the "wars" were being fought...and we had the embeds...and the pressers from Qatar...
I know they have the pressers on the military channel...but, when they were on Fox..it seemed like the country was more "behind" the troops and the mission.
