Jan. 13, 2006 Today, according to Pakistani military sources, U.S. aircraft attacked a compound known to be frequented by high level al Qaeda operatives. Pakistani officials tell ABC News that al Qaeda leader Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden's top lieutenant, may have been among them.
U.S. intelligence for the last few days indicated that Zawahiri might be in the location or about to arrive, although there is still no confirmation from U.S. officials that he was among the victims.

Got him with another lunger.. screen is a mess though.
MSNBC just said they hit with 10 hellfires.
But of course, for the Left this is all a legal matter and we violated his civil rights....
[You have to excuse me if I rate Pakistani Miltary Sources right up there with Debka.]
Can I get a thoughtful analysis of where Debka has ever been frightfully wrong?
In fact, you just reminded me to go to Debka to see what they at least "say" really happened in Pakistan. I give them high points for their ability to conceptualize around breaking news...often breaking a story before the networks or Drudge does.

I think the less complete test takes a few days. The full monty takes a few weeks. I suspect if there is enough of the body. The less complete will be enough. But if it was a predator drone with a Hellfire missle, it may take a while to sort out the pieces!
Lets nee the physical and DNA evidence. Not for nothing but I don't trust Pakistan.
Could be. If the dude is dead, we can create a new holiday on top of whatever is already celebrated on this day.
Memo to the dead villagers: Don't give refuge to terrorists.
Your right I may have to celebrate in a bubbly fashion. Wait...isn't it a product of France?
I'm like doubting Thomas. I won't believe until I can put my hand into the hole in his head. Uh, maybe I don't really need to do that. I'll trust someone else.
:) This would be an excellent way to kick off the weekend. My fingers are crossed...
Ouch! That's going to leave a mark.
That'll leave a mark.
We probably arrived jointly, but the Paks hate al-Qaida as much as we do. Ask Musharraf about the assassination attempts he's survived.
No, not yet. But hopefully our guys were able to check things out at a range closer than a few thousand feet, if you get my drift.
