Oh my....I recall the Anita Hill testimony and I couldn't believe anyone had the balls to sit there and make those accusations...True or not!
Some things are better left unsaid.
Thomas got the USSC position anyway. Hill ended up looking like a fool.
Too bad we didn't have Internet access and FR at that time.

They can't stall on bringing the nomination tothe floor..they may insist on 100 hours of debate..but then it they do NOT agree to coming to a vote..well then..

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, one of two new Jewish members of the House of Representatives, was chosen by the ranking Democratic member of Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont, because of her outspoken stance in the tragic case of Terri Schiavo, the brain-damaged Florida woman who last year became a symbol of Congress's overstepping into family matters.

Sepecter talking to press: No reason to have a delay. Value in going forward with the arrangement we have made. Scheduling is hard.

They're lamenting the fact that the "people's voice" was "truncated." Translation - They did not comply with our wishes, even though we number few.

I am now listening to Specter who I think is saying there will not be a delay beyond the original schedule.

That's why Daschle lost and we picked off se Senate races in '04? Because obstruction of judges has no political consequence?

I hope the Alitos go to South Philly and get themselves a great Italian dinner with LOTS of very expensive red wine. They've earned it.
Hats off to Arlen. Since we (properly) bash him when he's wrong, he should get kudos when he's done well. Arlen presided over a devastating defeat of those 'Rats. They came out of these hearings looking like complete jackasses.
A great week to be a 'Pub ... and a BAD week to be a 'Rat.

The only reason for delay is to smear this guy and raise money.
That's it.
