Dems Forget Golden Rule at Alito Hearing
Capitol Hill Journal ^ | Jan 12, 2006 | Jim Kouri

Posted on 01/12/2006 1:39:02 PM PST by WatchYourself

The most egregious attack is the allegation that Alito is a closet racist because of his membership in the Concerned Alumni of Princeton. The conservative group opposed affirmative-action and lower admission standards in 1984. The organization's newsletter carried articles by contributors, none of whom was Alito. Yet, the Kennedy-Schumer-Durbin-Biden-Leahy cabal is trying to tattoo objectionable articles from that newsletter on Alito's chest.

So fierce were the accusations that Mrs. Alito left the hearings with tears streaming down her face after she endured watching the man she knew and loved smeared by a bunch of less-than-honorable men. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham apologized for the conduct of the senators, which brought tears to Mrs. Alito's eyes.

According to the GOP, this is all part of a coordinated assault led by far-left attack groups like MoveOn.org and People for the American Way. The facts are these: Judge Alito is the most experienced nominee to the Court in three generations. He has received the American Bar Association's highest rating, and is supported by a solid 2-to-1 majority of Americans.

Alito hails from New Jersey where I now live. Having served in law enforcement in New Jersey after leaving the job in New York City, I've spoken to many within the Jersey police and criminal justice community who only had good things to say about Judge Alito. These are Democrats and Republicans who know Alito professionally and admire the man.

Putting a kid into colege who is not ready will often end his education.

Ah...the irony! ;^)

And what's wrong with preserving the academic integrity of the college by opposing any effort to lower academic standards in order to increase the number of members from some group?

Just for the record, the "conservative group" did not oppose affirmative action, it opposed quotas.

That person that flunks out will be bitter about it for the rest of his/her life and will be more likely to subscribe to the Democratic oath, "You can't make it on your own."

WHich is why the Dems want it so much. Every bitter non-graduate is going to blame "the Man" for holding him down, and vote Dem from then on

If anyone had smeared MY husband in public like that, I would've reacted the same way...

Me too. I also would have had to have been physically restrained from clawing their eyes out. NO ONE speaks to my husband like that in my presence. (Of course, he would be embarrassed if he knew I said that :))

I don't think any of those ignorant Senators have wives like that in their lives (even their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th wives). They will never understand why Mrs. Alito reacted the way she did.

These confirmation hearings provided valuable insight into the abilities of the Rats working under pressure, something that is not available watching 10 second soundbites on the evening news.

What we saw are five Democratic Senators acting like total buffoons. It was obvious that they were more interested in defining themselves with rehearsed statements rather than engaging in serious debate with Alito. The fact that they could barely muster a counterpoint to Alito's responses made it quite clear. In years past, the media would take the Rats' little soundbites and spin them into election year highlights. However, the new media sees all and knows all. Their gig is up.

It would be allot better to be a "PG" at another high school to learn how to read, write, and do math.

So, uh, how did you do in spelling class?

Sorry, couldn't resist. I make too many mistakes myself to be on the spelling police squad.

Dems Forget Golden Rule at Alito Hearing

They forgot far more than that. They forgot their manners, they forgot how to behave civvily, they forgot to control their junkyard dogs like Kennedy, Schumer, Leahy, et al.

However, on the good side, the fact that they forgot their manners, they forgot how to behave civvily, they forgot to control their junkyard dogs like Kennedy, Schumer, Leahy, et al, bodes extremely well for Republicans.

IMO, the Dems will rue the day they decided to try to 'Bork' Alito. This one will come back to bite them in the butt big time.

Well said. It's obvious that the love of a Good Woman has alluded them all these years...and with good reason. Water definately seeks it's own level. These doorknobs are proof of that.

If I didn't loathe them and see them as the enemy, I'd pity them. They've made their beds. They've buttered their bread. They've sold their souls.

It's payday this week...

The Italian community is watching...bet there calling these rat senators telling them to never expect their votes again. What they've done is tried to lynch this man...and Italian's are pissed as hell over it.

Is Alito 100% Italian?          (love your tag line)

Democrat congressmen are like ancient tribes that forced their victim to run the gauntlet. If the victim could survive the clubbings, the axe wounds and blows from the line of warriors he would be allowed to live. They are savages.

If the internet is correct --->

Judge Alito's father was born in Italy while his mother is Italian-American born here
