Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

Yep. They were wrong. He was the scum killer. Time even had him on the cover. What dopes!
"Separation Anxiety: Congress, the Courts, and the Constitution" in Georgetown Law Journal (2003) (with Hillary Rodham Clinton)"
What a surprise, eh?
Manatee? Did he either go on a crash diet or have gastric bypass?
You know in the intrest of full disclouser AP really should be required to make the resumes of their writers available so people could understand the bais their "news" is being flitered thru.
"remember this guy so we can tell our grandchildren to oppose him if he ever gets nominated"...
BOY, we were thinking the same thing....I got the impression that that smart aleck little SNOT was trying out for the SCOTUS today!!!
This is MORE of a reason for the GOP to stay in power for the next 50 years!
Anyone who honestly believes anyone associated with the ACLU wants Alito on the Supreme Court raise their hands.
Liu certainly had a 'progressive agenda' and used some heavy handed negative language about Alito, and then Carter Phillips to his right...ate his lunch.
he looked and sounded like a rich little weasle that needs a good ass whooping to wipe that sumg look off his face.
YOU are GOOD!!!
I liked what Coburn said yesterday. This was regarding international law, SC justices basing opinions on it. In a very careful way he spoke that good behavior was required and justices basing opinions on international laws...was considered bad behavior. He never used impeachment but that's what he was saying.
Do you know when the Senate votes?
HAAAAAAAAAA! How predominate was Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton or GH Bush or GW Bush before running for President? Prominence is NOT a good selling point for a Presidential Candidate. It will NOT be McCain. Not a hope in hell of winning the Republican nomination in 2008. McCain MAY win in the NE states, and Arizonia, he will win NO other Republican Primaries. He is DEAD to the base. As a potential Republican delegate and local party activist, I can tell you McCain has ZERO chance of wining the nomination in 2008. Republicans value loyalty. They LOVED the way Reagan stood by Ford in 1976, they will NOT forgive the many betrayals since 2000 by McCain. Not a chance.
I figure making up stuff against them is fair play turnabout. I don't know it for a fact, so just assumed if they (ABC) knew it, it was because they were involved. ;-)
GOODWIN LIU
I am honored to be nominated for the Board. I grew up in Northern California, attending public school in Sacramento before going to college at Stanford. After law school, I spent several years in Washington, including one year clerking for one of the ACLUs finest, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, another year in the Clinton Administration working on civil rights and K-12 policy in the U.S. Department of Education, and two years in an appellate litigation practice. Now in my second year on the Boalt faculty, I am eager to bring to the ACLU what I bring to my teaching and research: a passion for civil rights, broad expertise in constitutional law, and a commitment to liberty and opportunity for the dissenters and disadvantaged in our society.
NOMINATED BY: Board of Directors

Lui is one of those little sh*ts who can't wait to see the lib *catch phrase of the day* so he can be the first to use it at the local Starbucks. So predictable, so transparent.
