Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

The testimonies mean nothing. The Dims will blow them off as "show". Right now, they are trying to regroup to figure out how they can position a fillibuster so as to get the maximim political value out of it. You probably saw some of the DU cries of outrage posted here. Imagine how much hell these guys are gonna catch from the loonies. They'll have to do something if only to get the loonies off their backs.

THat is what I now see as the wisdom of this panel. They are knocking down the entire idea that the senate should be looking at people's personal views when picking nominees.

Dershowitz was the one calling for the legalizing of torture shortly after 9/11. He maintained that the government should be allowed to secure torture warrants from judges in order to extract information about future attacks. My, how quickly the Dems forget.
