Much as I dislike him, I pray that Kennedy will not die on President Bush's watch. I don't wish to see or hear President Bush have to eulogize the b*st*rd.What makes you think Bush would be invited to?

Not necessarily.
The Keating Five had only a single member who was a Republican, and even that person-Senator McCain-was only peripherally involved in the scandal, and yet the Democrats-and their schills in the mainstream media-managed to tar both sides of Congress as participating in "bipartisan" corruption.
I do hope Hayworth is ultimately exonerated, because he's one of my favorite congressmen.
I'm not really surprised by any of the other names, and am pleased by at least one of them, i.e. Burns.
It's time that the Rep. leadership in the Senate told that senile old goat to retire.
He's almost as embarrassing as Ted Stevens.

How about Wilbur Mills? Ole Wilbur at least went out with elan chasing Fannie Fox (aka the Argentine Firecracker) onstage at a Boston strip club and into a tidal pool in DC.

Turning a shirt collar!
Do you sides-to-middle your sheets, too?
Scottish by any chance? (I am too - I don't turn collars because my husband has a beard and they don't show anyway. But I do darn and sides-to-middle sheets - at least the good ones.)

I just signed in to say that Judge Maryanne Trump Berry not only made a great commendation of Judge Alito, she did it in a way that pointed out the contrast of Judge Alito's character with that of those on the Judicial panel who questioned him in such a hateful way. She did it simply by the depth of admiration for him in her tone while praising the qualities he possesses personally and professionally.
All of these judges are making such moving statements about Judge Alito, and there doesn't seem to be an insincere word among them. Wish the half could be said with that amount of sincerity about the character and qualities of many of our politicians.
I'm looking forward to reading the thread later, to see what y'all had to say about the hearings today. God bless.
